The Maple Leafs are coming off a 4-3 loss to Seattle on Saturday night, snapping a two-game win streak, but have earned at least a point in four of five home dates this season. The Devils closed out their first homestand of the season with Saturday’s 5-3 win over Edmonton, and have tallied four straight victories since opening their schedule with a 6-3 loss in Carolina.
The Maple Leafs get set to hit the ice as slim -120 favourites on the Tuesday NHL odds. The Devils are pegged as strong +100 underdogs and the total is listed at 6.0.

The Leafs claimed the win in all three meetings with the Devils last season, capped by a narrow 4-3 victory in Toronto on January 16. Jesper Bratt recorded his second multi-point outing of the season against Edmonton, scoring once and adding a helper, and has seized the early lead on the Devils team stats with seven points. With Jacob Markstrom still on the shelf with a lower-body injury, Jake Allen is set to make a fourth straight start between the pipes. The Fredericton, NB native has surrendered just five total goals on 76 shots in his first eight periods of action this season. However, Allen has been lit up in recent dates with the Leafs, surrendering 22 total goals over his past five appearances while facing over 40 shots on three occasions.

The Leafs have scored only five total goals in their past two games, both of which were settled in overtime, after filling the net in last week’s 7-4 beat down of the Nashville Predators. However, veteran John Tavares has remained productive, scoring twice in the club’s loss to the Kraken on Saturday might, and has now turned in three multi-point performances over the first seven games of the season, all on home ice. Tavares is a solid -135 bet on the NHL player props to record at least one point on Tuesday, and offers intriguing value as a +1800 wager to score at least two goals against the Devils. William Nylander has maintained his perch atop the Maple Leafs team stats after tallying a pair of helpers on Saturday, and has joined the league leaders in points while compiling a goal and six assists over the past three games.
