The Cincinnati Bengals try to stop a two-game slide when they visit the winless Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon in NFL Week 5 betting action at Hard Rock Stadium. The Bengals fell to 2-2 SU with last week’s 22-17 home loss to Jacksonville despite a sterling performance from Joe Burrow, who threw for more than 400 yards. The Dolphins are looking for answers after falling to 0-4 with last week’s 15-10 loss in Minnesota, and have yet to score more than 13 points in a game this season.

Temperatures are forecast to climb to around 31 degrees Celsius with high humidity, partly cloudy skies and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. NFL betting fans can catch the action on FOX, with regional CTV, TSN and RDS coverage in Canada and DAZN streaming the game nationwide.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends

The Bengals are listed as a 7-point road favourites on the NFL Week 5 odds. The Dolphins trail as a +187 bet on the NFL moneyline and the total is pegged at 43.

This is the second meeting between these teams in as many seasons. The Bengals rolled to a dominating 45-21 win when they visited Miami last December and have now topped the Dolphins in four of their past six meetings. The Dolphins have earned the victory in their of their past four home dates with Cincy, but needed overtime to seal two of those wins. Clashes between these squads have been largely low scoring, with the UNDER going 6-2-1 in their past nine.

The Bengals 0-2 SU and ATS since opening on a 2-0 run, but are 15-5 ATS in their past 20 against teams with losing records. The Dolphins are currently 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS. The UNDER has cashed in three of Dolphins’ four games. Miami is also 1-4 ATS in its past five overall and 1-6 ATS in its past seven following an ATS win.

NFL Player Odds and Props

Backing Joe Burrow to toss for OVER 250.5 passing yards as a -125 bet on the NFL player props remains attractive if Cincinnati gets at least one of its top two receivers back. Burrow is coming off his eighth career 400-yard passing performance, and the Bengals have become increasingly dependent on the pass as its running game struggles.

Malik Willis’ -115 odds to throw for UNDER 188.5 passing yards has a lot of appeal after last week’s dismal performance. Cincinnati safety Jordan Battle also said this week that the Bengals believe they have identified a mechanical tell in Willis’ delivery, potentially giving the secondary another advantage.

Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow threw for over 400 yards against Jacksonville but was intercepted twice as Cincinnati lost its second straight game.

Receiver Ja’Marr Chase returned to limited practice Thursday after spending Wednesday in concussion protocol. Tee Higgins is considered day-to-day after suffering an adductor injury last week and remains a significant question mark. Higgins caught 11 passes for 157 yards before leaving the Jacksonville game.

On defence, Swayze Bozeman and Bryan Cook improved from DNP to limited Thursday, while Jordan Battle and Barrett Carter returned to full participation.

Miami Dolphins

Offensive production has emerged as a huge problem for the Dolphins. Quarterback Malik Willis completed only nine passes for 85 yards against Minnesota and has produced two total touchdowns against four turnovers through four starts. As a result, Miami is averaging 11.5 points per game and has yet to lead at any point this season.

Ollie Gordon II provided one of the few bright spots last week, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown. With the passing game struggling badly, Miami’s best chance Sunday is to keep the game on the ground and shorten the contest.

The Dolphins could also receive some defensive help. Storm Duck returned to full participation, while Kenneth Grant and Austin Jackson remained limited. Caleb Douglas again missed practice Thursday with an ankle injury.
