Under 2.5 goals to be scored
With two of the division’s meanest defences going head-to-head, our experts are anticipating a low-scoring affair to kickstart the return of Premier League action, with under 2.5 goals being scored – despite the attacking quality on show. Leeds are one of just two sides to have conceded fewer goals than Arsenal, who have kept three clean sheets in five games, and with the visitors only scoring more than once in one of their league games this term, they won’t threaten too much at the other end – so we’re not predicting a goal-fest.
Bukayo Saka 1+ shots on target
What we are predicting, however, is another bright performance from Bukayo Saka, whose brace against Croatia last week may well set the tone for a return to form – so we’re tipping him to have at least one effort on target. The 25-year-old is averaging almost two shots on target per 90 this season, already scoring three times, and as the man who so often unlocks stubborn defences at the Emirates, he will once again be the driving force for Mikel Arteta’s men here.
Jayden Bogle to be shown a card
As Leeds’ right wing-back, Jayden Bogle will have plenty of responsibility at both ends of the pitch this weekend, and potentially lining up against the elegant trickery of Eberechi Eze, the 26-year-old is our pick for a card. Bogle has already been booked twice in the 2026/27 Premier League season, and commits more than a foul per game, so as Leeds do everything they can to impose themselves on their hosts, we’re expecting plenty of fouls to disrupt any Arsenal rhythm – with Bogle primed to be at the heart of it.
Arsenal to win
Arsenal have only lost back-to-back Premier League matches once since December 2023, and with a reaction needed to that bruising afternoon at the AMEX, we’re expecting the champions (and title favourites) to show their class on Saturday afternoon. The visitors may be unbeaten in the league this term, but they’ve actually only won one of their last five in all competitions, and with Leeds last beating the Gunners back in May 2003, history suggests Daniel Farke’s side could be in for another difficult day.
