Lions vs. Roughriders Prediction: CFL Week 4 Point Spread, Odds

Saskatchewan extended their perfect start to the year with last week’s 39-32 win in Toronto as they get set to face their first West Division opponent of 2025 on Saturday. It’s been a tough start for the Lions, who won their season-opener against Edmonton before dropping a home-and-home series versus Winnipeg.

The Riders are 3.5-point favourites to win on the CFL odds, with the total pegged at 51.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

These teams split the regular season series last year, with the home side coming out on top. That trend continued in the West Division semifinals as Saskatchewan marched to a 28-19 win as 4.5-point favourites.

BC is looking to get back on track after beginning the season 1-2 both straight up and against the spread. The Roughriders are trending in a much better direction at 3-0 SU and ATS.

Recent history favours Saskatchewan to cover this game. The Riders are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Lions, while BC is just 1-7 ATS in their last eight road dates.

BC Lions

Playing in place of injured quarterback Nathan Rourke, Jeremiah Masoli made his first career start as a member of the Lions last week. Masoli completed 25 of 44 pass attempts for 281 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Rourke was once again limited at practice this week due to a core injury, so it’s more likely Masoli will start a second straight game. The journeyman pivot is coming off a three-year stretch in Ottawa that saw him start just eight total games.

If you’re looking for player props for this game, you might want to circle receiver Keon Hatcher or running back James Butler. Hatcher leads the CFL with 294 receiving yards, going off for 150 then 92 yards respectively in the last two weeks against Winnipeg. Butler is fifth in the CFL with 139 rushing yards, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

Mario Alford essentially called game last week in Toronto, putting the Roughriders ahead with a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown with nine seconds left in regulation. Veteran quarterback Trevor Harris had a quiet, but efficient night, completing 13 of 17 pass attempts for 234 yards, two TDs and an interception. Harris has been solid through the first three weeks of the season, sitting second in total passing yards (806) and tied for first in passing TDs (five).

Saskatchewan is able to field a dual threat offence thanks to running back A.J. Ouellette, who racked up 91 rushing yards and a TD last week. Ouellette is third in the CFL with 208 rushing yards. The receiving duo of KeeSean Johnson and Dohnte Meyers has also been dangerous. Johnson ranks fifth in the CFL with 235 receiving yards, while Meyers just put up 125 receiving yards and two TDs in Week 3.
