After an extended break for the FIBA Women’s World Cup, the WNBA is back on Thursday with a five-game slate, one of which will see the Las Vegas Aces take on the Seattle Storm.

This game between the Aces and the Storm is scheduled for Thursday, September 17, and has a tip-off time of 10 p.m. ET. The game will be played at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, and will be broadcast on USA Network.

My article will preview this game between the Aces and Storm by giving you a brief overview of the current betting odds, a closer look at both the Aces and the Storm, as well as my best bet for the game.

Las Vegas Aces vs. Seattle Storm WNBA Odds and Betting Trends

A quick look at the current betting odds tells us that the Las Vegas Aces are significant favourites. As it stands, the Aces have moneyline odds of -480, while the Seattle Storm are huge underdogs, with moneyline odds of +350.

In terms of the point spread, you can bet on the Aces -9.5 at odds of -118, while betting on the Storm +9.5 will carry odds of -104.

The total for this game has been set at 173.5. You can bet on Over 173.5 total points at odds of -110, while betting on Under 173.5 total points also has odds of -110.

Some trends to be aware of show that the Aces are 1-0 SU/ATS against the Storm. As for player trends, Aces point guard Jackie Young has scored at least 20+ points in 10 of her last 12 games.

Las Vegas Aces

The Las Vegas Aces enter this game with a record of 27-13 and are currently in third place in the WNBA’s Western Conference.

Las Vegas has also already clinched a playoff spot as they are in third place in the overall WNBA standings.

Before the break, the Aces had won three games in a row, the most recent of those wins coming against the Toronto Tempo by a score of 93-73.

It is also worth noting that Las Vegas has been one of the best road teams in the league this season, having posted a record of 14-6, which tells us they should be able to overwhelm this terrible Seattle team.

Seattle Storm

The Seattle Storm enter this game with a record of 8-32 and are in last place in the WNBA’s Western Conference. This season has been a complete disaster for the Storm, who have been eliminated from the playoffs and are also in last place in the overall league standings.

Prior to the break, Seattle lost to the Los Angeles Sparks, meaning they are 2-8 SU over their last 10 games. Given their record, Seattle has also been a poor home team, having posted a record of 6-14.

To make matters worse, the Storm have numerous injuries, including to Jade Melbourne and Natisha Hiedeman, who are both questionable.

WNBA Prediction: Who Will Win Las Vegas Aces vs. Seattle Storm?

Instead of a straight-up or point spread prediction, I will simply be looking at a player prop as my best bet. This being Jackie Young, from the Las Vegas Aces.

Young has easily been one of Las Vegas’ best players, as she is averaging 18.3 points per game. This is good for the second-most on the Aces.

More importantly, and as previously mentioned, Young has scored at least 20+ points in 10 of the last 12 games. She also scored 29 points in the previous (and only) game with the Storm this season.

Given this, backing Jackie Young to score 20+ points (-156) will be my best bet, and I also like the Aces to beat the Storm by a score of 94-74.
