Washington nearly erased a late deficit in its opener before falling 24-22 at Philadelphia. Jayden Daniels threw for 164 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns, but the Commanders had an earlier extra point blocked and then failed on a potential game-tying two-point conversion.
Dallas also opened 0-1, losing 28-20 to the New York Giants. Dak Prescott completed 22 of 34 passes for 175 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Both teams will need much more offensive consistency in an important early divisional matchup.

The Cowboys’ biggest concern is their defence. New York piled up 394 total yards, including 165 on the ground, and 29 first downs while converting 82% of its third downs in Week 1.
That creates an intriguing matchup for Daniels after Philadelphia held Washington to 295 yards. His mobility could present another problem for a Dallas defence that struggled to get off the field against New York.

Terry McLaurin over 50 receiving yards (-120)
McLaurin gets an appealing matchup against a Dallas secondary that struggled in the opener. Washington should also have opportunities through play-action if Daniels’ rushing ability forces the Cowboys to account for him.

Prescott threw for only 175 yards against New York, but Washington allowed Philadelphia to create several big plays despite generally defending well.
With CeeDee Lamb and Pickens available, Prescott should have enough opportunities to rebound in a game carrying a 50.5-point total.

Pickens enters Week 2 with an attractive matchup against Washington’s secondary. Dallas should look to get him more involved after an uneven opener, particularly downfield.

Tight end Chig Okonkwo and linebacker Frankie Luvu did not practise Wednesday, while several defensive linemen and edge rushers were limited.
Linebacker Jordan Magee is definitely out after suffering a hamstring injury against Philadelphia. Washington placed him on injured reserve Tuesday, meaning he will miss at least four games.
Dallas Cowboys
Dallas needs a much better defensive performance after allowing New York to control possession and repeatedly extend drives in Week 1.
Prescott, Lamb and Pickens give the Cowboys plenty of firepower, but the offence had only two possessions in the second half against the Giants because Dallas couldn’t get its defence off the field.
Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is questionable with a hamstring injury, while safety Malik Hooker is doubtful with a forearm issue. Neither practiced on Wednesday.
