Colts vs. Chiefs NFL Betting Odds, Picks: Chris Jones (calf) listed as questionable for SNF
Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season is headlined in part by an AFC showdown on Sunday Night Football between the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs.
It was a tale of two very different opening weeks for these two teams. The Colts got blown out 41-23 by the Ravens at home, while the Chiefs took down the visiting Broncos 31-10 on Monday night.
Indianapolis and Kansas City faced each other on November 23 of last year, also at K.C.’s Arrowhead Stadium. With Patrick Mahomes having not yet suffered his torn ACL (that would happen three weeks later), the Chiefs battled to a 23-20 overtime victory.

NFL Player Odds and Props
Indianapolis Colts
Jonathan Taylor – Over 19.5 rushing attempts (-104)
The Colts’ best defence against the Chiefs is simply trying to keep Mahomes and company off the field for as long as possible. To do that, the visitors need to control the clock by running the football. That means Taylor should be fed the rock early and often. He got 19 carries in Week 1 against Baltimore even though Indianapolis was playing from behind basically the entire game.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes – Over 217.5 passing yards (-114)
With a game under his belt on the heels of his return from a torn ACL, Mahomes should only improve in Week 2. And he was already quite good in the season opener, passing for 184 yards and two touchdowns against one of the best defences in football. The Colts watched Lamar Jackson go 17-of-25 for 324 yards last weekend.
Indianapolis Colts
Expectations have been high for the Colts’ defence in recent seasons, especially after acquiring cornerback Sauce Gardner prior to last year’s trade deadline. However, the unit was horrendous against the Ravens. Baltimore racked up 506 total yards on 7.9 yards per play.
On the other side of the ball, quarterback Daniel Jones was playing for the first time since suffering a torn Achilles’ in Week 14 of last season. Jones threw for just 166 yards with one touchdown and one interception, and his rust gives Indianapolis all the more reason to make Taylor the focal point of its offence.
Kansas City Chiefs
For the Chiefs, on the other hand, Week 1 could not have gone much better. In addition to Mahomes playing well in his comeback game, reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III ran wild on his Kansas City debut. The former Seahawk racked up 191 yards from scrimmage (173 rushing) and two touchdowns at Denver’s expense.
Undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson played well at left tackle in place of injured starter Josh Simmons, who remains questionable for Sunday with a back injury. On defence, star pass rusher Chris Jones is questionable due to a calf issue.
