Toronto Raptors vs. Brooklyn Nets Prediction, NBA Odds
The Raptors travel to Brooklyn for their sixth road date in seven games after getting past the Washington Wizards in a 112-104 win on Monday night that snapped a four-game losing streak. The Nets opened a four-game home stand with Monday’s 120-101 win over Dallas that marked their 14th defeat ion their past 16 games.
The Nets lead the way as 2.5-point favourites on the Wednesday NBA odds. The Raptors trail as a +115 bet on the NBA moneyline and the total is listed at 214.5.
Raptors vs. Nets NBA Betting Odds
Wednesday’s clash at Barclays Center will be the third of this season’s four scheduled meetings between these Atlantic Division rivals. These clubs split a pair of dates in Toronto earlier this season, capped by the Raptors’ decisive 130-113 victory on New Year’s Day. With that win, the Raptors halted a three-game slide in head-to-head action but have failed to record consecutive victories while losing eight of their past 10 versus the Nets. Indeed, the road has been unkind to the Raptors, who have lost six of eight away dates with Brooklyn and failed to cover in their past three versus the Nets when pegged as road underdogs by three or fewer points.
However, the Raptors have emerged as a reliable bet down the stretch, going 9-3 ATS in their past 12 contests. But generating offence continues to be a concern, with Toronto shooters averaging just 101.2 points per game during their current 1-4 SU run. Things have not gone any better for the Nets, who have fallen two games back of the 11th-place Raptors during their 3-14 freefall. With Monday’s crushing loss to the Mavs, The Nets have now averaged just 99.8 points per game while losing their past four and have topped 110 points just three times over their past 10 games. Despite those struggles, the nets have still managed to cover in eight of their past 11 outings.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors will be shorthanded for Wednesday night’s contest. Gradey Dick will miss his 12th straight game due to a nagging knee injury and will be joined on the sidelines by Immanuel Quickley and Jakob Poeltl, both of whom will be given the night off to rest. That should add to the weight on the shoulders of the club’s two biggest producers, Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett. Barnes mustered just 13 points in Monday’s win over the Wizards after averaging 25.5 in his previous two outings but has remained an all-round contributor, tallying his sixth double-double in 10 games with 10 rebounds in Washington and 6.7 helpers over the past three games. Barrett returns to action after being rested on Monday and has averaged 18.8 points over his past five road appearances.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets will be without one of their biggest producers on Tuesday, with the club electing to rest Cameron Johnson. The 29-year-old big man has been a key playmaker for Brooklyn, averaging six assists over his past five games. Johnson also led the team in scoring in two of Brooklyn’s past three home dates, averaging 22.7 points per game over that stretch. D’Angelo Russell is expected to suit up on Wednesday after missing the past two games with an ankle injury. Russell averaged 20 points per game over his two most recent appearances and piled up 22 points and eight assists in his Nets debut in Toronto on New Year’s Day.
