Two teams looking to rebound from abysmal three-win seasons meet Sunday when New York Jets visit Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium.
Jets vs. Titans NFL Betting Odds, Picks
Both teams finished 3-14 last season and underwent significant offseason changes. New York brought back Geno Smith, who was originally drafted by the Jets in 2013, to start at quarterback under second-year coach Aaron Glenn.
Tennessee begins the Robert Saleh era, with the former Jets head coach facing his old team in his Titans debut. Saleh coached New York from 2021 to 2024.
Cam Ward returns after an uneven rookie season in which the former No. 1 overall pick completed 59.8% of his passes for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
The Jets won the most recent meeting 24-17 at Nissan Stadium in September 2024.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends
Tennessee is a 1.5-point home favourite, with a -125 moneyline. The Jets sit at +105, and the total is just 39.5 points, one of the lowest numbers on the NFL Week 1 odds board.
The low total makes sense. New York scored just 300 points last season while allowing an NFL-worst 503. The Jets also became the first team in NFL history to finish a season without recording an interception.
Tennessee was even worse offensively, scoring 284 points. Ward averaged an NFL-low 5.9 yards per attempt and was sacked 55 times.
The Titans could also be without linebacker Cedric Gray, who led the team with 164 tackles last season but entered concussion protocol following a UTV accident over the weekend.

Breece Hall over 64.5 rushing yards (-115)
Breece Hall is expected to play after missing time with a groin injury during training camp. He rushed for a career-high 1,065 yards last season, becoming the first Jet since Chris Ivory in 2015 to surpass 1,000.
New York should lean on Hall in a game carrying such a low total, particularly with Smith making his first Jets start since 2016.
Garrett Wilson over 60.5 receiving yards (-125)
Garrett Wilson’s 2025 season ended prematurely, but sadly enough he still led the Jets with 395 receiving yards and four touchdowns in only seven games.
He surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three NFL seasons and should immediately become Smith’s top target against Tennessee.
Tony Pollard over 54.5 rushing yards (-110)
Tony Pollard rushed for 1,082 yards on 242 carries last season, averaging 4.5 yards per attempt.
The matchup is attractive. New York surrendered 2,371 rushing yards last season, an average of 139.5 per game, placing them 29th in the league. Tennessee should give Pollard plenty of opportunities if the game remains as close as expected.
Cam Ward over 201.5 passing yards (-115)
Cam Ward threw for 3,169 yards as a rookie despite Tennessee’s protection problems and lack of consistent offensive production.
The Jets allowed 3,849 passing yards and an alarming 36 touchdown passes last season while failing to record a single interception.
New York has rebuilt much of its secondary, but Ward should still have opportunities to clear a relatively modest number.

The Jets are trying to reset after a miserable 3-14 season, and the biggest change is a familiar face under centre. Geno Smith returns to the franchise that drafted him in 2013 and will make his first start for New York since 2016. Smith gives second-year head coach Aaron Glenn a veteran quarterback to work with, but the Jets still need major improvement from an offence that scored only 300 points last season. Running back Breece Hall should remain central to the attack after rushing for a career-high 1,065 yards in 2025, while Garrett Wilson returns as the clear No. 1 receiving option after injuries limited him to seven games. The bigger concern is a defence that allowed an NFL-worst 503 points and somehow failed to record a single interception all season. New York has rebuilt parts of the secondary, but this remains a unit with plenty to prove entering Week 1.
Tennessee Titans
Tennessee also enters the season off a 3-14 finish, but there is at least some reason for optimism as Robert Saleh takes over as head coach and Cam Ward enters his second NFL season. Ward’s rookie numbers were uneven, as he completed 59.8% of his passes for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions while taking 55 sacks, but the former No. 1 overall pick now has a full season of experience behind him. The Titans should again lean heavily on Tony Pollard, who rushed for 1,082 yards while averaging 4.5 yards per carry last season and draws a favourable matchup against a Jets defence that ranked near the bottom of the league against the run. Tennessee does have an injury concern on defence, with leading tackler Cedric Gray entering concussion protocol following a weekend UTV accident. With both offences coming off difficult seasons, the Titans may be content to keep this game on the ground and let Ward avoid unnecessary risk.
