This game represents the two exact opposite ends of the spectrum in the AFC West. Not only is one team first while the other sits dead last, one team has all the potential in the world while the other has “blow it up” written all over them. It’s an epic division rivalry from the once angelic turned relic Oakland Coliseum.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Kansas City Chiefs enter this game favoured by two scores or five field goals at -15. They are 12-3-1 in their last 16 overall against the spread (ATS) and 7-1 in their last eight against the AFC. It’d be important to note that KC is also 11-3-1 in their last 15 on grass ATS and that’s with and without the Oakland A’s baseball diamond at midfield.

The Raiders, on the other hand, are a train wreck. The team is trending downward heavily in all directions and enters this Sunday 3-9-2 ATS against winning record clubs. For what it’s worth, they’re also 1-6 ATS overall through their last seven.

Kansas City Chiefs

There’s a chance they may be following their bye week without wide out Sammy Watkins. Not that it hurt them in their shootout against the Los Angeles Rams two weeks ago and not that it’ll likely hurt them against a Raiders secondary that couldn’t catch a cold.

The Chiefs have gotten to a point where they can comfortably rest their stars as they still sit a win ahead of the Chargers and three up on the AFC wild card tandem.

Oakland Raiders

Do we need to shine more light on this team? Coach John Gruden has his Raiders tied with Arizona and San Francisco for dead last in the league. At 2-9, the Oakland Raiders scouts are busier than their offence week in and week out.

However, with all of that said, the Raiders could still play spoilers in this game. After watching 106 points hit the board in that epic Chiefs-Rams tilt, many people are probably liking the over 56 here. Keep in mind, though, they are 7-2 with the under in their last nine home games. Oakland is also a perfect 5-0 in their last five December matchups.

Look at that, “Oakland” and “perfect” in the same sentence. And they said it couldn’t be done!
