Week 6 of the NFL season features a 12-game Sunday slate that is headlined in part by a showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Both teams come in with some much-needed momentum.

The Steelers bounced back from a loss to Cleveland by beating Indianapolis this past weekend, while the Bucs finally picked up their first win by upsetting Dallas last Thursday night.

As teams from different conferences, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay have faced each other just once every four years dating all the way back to 2002.

The Steelers most recently prevailed 20-18 at home in 2022, improving to 10-2 in the all-time head-to-head series and 6-1 in the last seven encounters. Pittsburgh has not visited Tampa Bay since 2018.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends

The Steelers come in as -2.5 favourites (-110), making the Bucs +2.5 underdogs (-110). On the money line, the visitors are -135 and the home side is +114. The game total is set at 39.5 points, with both the over and the under priced at -110.

Pittsburgh is 6-1 against the spread in the last seven head-to-head contests and the over is 3-1 in the last four, although those trends can be thrown out the window since these teams have not met since 2022. Both sides have been struggling against the spread.

The Steelers are 0-3 ATS in their last three road games, while the Bucs are 1-13 ATS in their last 14 overall. The over is 3-0 in Pittsburgh’s last three games, but the under is 6-2 in Tampa Bay’s last eight.

NFL Player Odds and Props

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pat Freiermuth – To score a touchdown (+320)

Even in a contest that projects to be a relatively defensive-minded affair, getting Pat Freiermuth this far into plus money to find the endzone is an opportunity that should not be passed up.

After all, the Steelers’ reliable tight end has already scored four touchdowns in 2026. He has scored three in the last two games, too, after victimizing Indianapolis twice last week.

Freiermuth now faces a Tampa Bay team that has surrendered seven touchdowns through the air compared to only two on the ground.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Emeka Egbuka – Over 3.5 receptions (-125)

Emeka Egbuka has made at least five catches in three of five games this season.

Quarterback Jalon Daniels now has two starts under his belt in place of an injured Baker Mayfield and the undrafted rookie made significant strides in Week 5.

Continued improvement at that position should be expected, which would obviously benefit Egbuka. Pittsburgh is allowing 220.8 passing yards per game on 7.4 yards per attempt, while it has been stingier against the run.

It would not be surprising if Daniels finishes with at least 30 attempts and 20 completions on Sunday.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Freiermuth and fellow tight end Darnell Washington should be especially active on Sunday with several Pittsburgh receivers banged up.

Michael Pittman Jr. On the other side of the ball, the Steelers’ secondary remains an issue. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. was traded to the Cowboys earlier this month and fellow CB Jamel Dean is questionable.

Moreover, safety DeShon Elliott is on injured reserve.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mayfield remains sidelined by a thumb injury and does not appear to have any chance of returning this weekend. That means the reins still belong to Daniels, who threw for just 148 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in his first start against Green Bay – a 17-14 loss.

On Thursday Night Football at Dallas, though, the Kansas product passed for 189 yards with one TD and no INTs.
