The second game of the Friday night doubleheader in CFL Week 20 is from the West Division and could have playoff ramifications as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit Edmonton.

The Elks are -3.5 on the CFL odds with a total of 55.5 points that is easily the week’s lowest.

CFL Odds and Betting

Edmonton (12-4) hasn’t clinched the West Division title yet but holds a two-game lead over second-place B.C. so it could as early as Friday and earn that first-round bye. The Elks will have at least one home playoff game for the first time since 2015 at Commonwealth Stadium. They are +250 second-favourites to win the Grey Cup behind East Division champion Montreal (+160).

Winnipeg (8-8) is tied for third in the West with Saskatchewan but currently wins the tiebreaker. The teams split the season series, but the Bombers finished with a better point differential in it. The Blue Bombers, +1600 to win the Grey Cup, do control their playoff fate currently and close at B.C. If they win one of their final two, they clinch the crossover playoff spot no matter what. Winning out would guarantee a West Division playoff spot.

The Elks look to sweep the three-game season series. They last met on Aug. 21 in Edmonton, and the hosts escaped 22-19. Vincent Blanchard hit a 40-yard field goal as time expired to complete a stunning comeback from down 16-0. The under is 5-1 in the past six meetings in Edmonton.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Winnipeg was a 1.5-point home underdog against Calgary in Week 19 but prevailed 33-28 to take back control of its playoff fate – and that victory earned a tiebreaker over the Stampeders.

After missing the past two weeks injured, QB Zach Collaros returned and completed 19 of 27 passes for 349 yards with two touchdowns and a pick while rushing once for 14 yards for a big second-down conversion in the fourth quarter.

Winnipeg entered last in the CFL with 13 completions of at least 30 yards this season but had four of them against Calgary — three to Dorian Singer. He had with five catches for 166 yards, the most yardage by a Winnipeg player in 2026.

The Stamps largely protected again the run, and Bombers tailback Brady Oliveira was held to eight carries for 40 yards and three catches for 29. He is playing through a minor ankle injury.

Return star Trey Vaval took the opening kickoff of the second half 88 yards for a touchdown, his second return score of the year.

Edmonton Elks

Edmonton was -7.5 last week at Hamilton and completed the home-and-home sweep of the Ticats with a 27-12 victory. Cody Fajardo completed 16 of 25 passes for 229 yards and rushed for a touchdown.

Zach Mathis and ShunDerrick Powell also found the end zone, while Vincent Blanchard made two field goals.

The Elks’ defence was the story as it forced five turnovers and held Hamilton to 242 yards of offence. Malik Carney was a one-man wrecking crew with four sacks to tie a team record for a single game, also with six tackles and a pass knockdown. Carney’s 11 sacks on the year are one shy of the league lead. After one sack in the first six games, he has 10 in the last 10.

Edmonton would clinch first place in the West Division with a win over the Blue Bombers.

“I’ve been telling the guys this week, this is almost like two games because if we find a way to win this football game, we guarantee ourselves that (first-round playoff) bye, and so essentially you’re winning that West Semi-Final by playing the bye week, so it’s big,” Fajardo told the media this week.
