Chargers vs. Chiefs NFL Betting Odds, Picks: Chiefs are Money Coming off Bye Weeks
A pair of AFC West rivals meet on Sunday when Los Angeles Chargers battle Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 6 of the NFL season.
The Chargers enter this contest still searching for their first win of the season. Los Angeles is 0-5, and one of just three NFL teams without a victory heading into Week 6 (Titans, Dolphins). Los Angeles heads to Kansas City coming off a 23-17 loss to the Broncos last week in a game in which they turned the ball over three times. The Chargers’ turnover differential of minus-5 is the second-worst mark in the league.
On the other side, the Chiefs enter this Week 6 matchup coming off a bye week. Kansas City is 4-0, which includes a 30-27 victory over Las Vegas in their most recent outing in Week 4. The victory snapped Las Vegas’ three-game winning streak to begin the season.
The Chargers won the most recent meeting between these teams 16-13 on the road in Kansas City on December 14, 2025.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends
Not surprisingly, oddsmakers are giving a significant edge to the Chiefs in this one. Kansas City is favoured by 8 points with odds of -485 on the NFL odds board. Los Angeles has odds of +370 on the moneyline while the total is listed at 42.5.
It’s clear that losing both coordinators over the offseason is taking its toll on the Chargers. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter are both gone, and life without them has been tough so far. New offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel hasn’t been able to get the offence into a rhythm, while defensive coordinator Chris O’Leary is leading an LA defense that ranks 22nd in the NFL by allowing 25.8 points per game so far this season.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has been historically great following bye weeks. He is 22-5 in his head coaching career in the games following a week off. Reid is great at having his team ready to play following some time off, and brings the Chiefs into Week 6 with plenty of momentum after an impressive 4-0 start.
NFL Player Odds and Props
Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert Under 30.5 pass attempts (-107)
Jim Harbaugh loves to lean on the running game, and with so many injuries to the LA offensive line, it seems unlikely that he asks Justin Herbert to drop back too much in this one. The Chargers rank 9th in the NFL averaging 128.2 rushing yards per game, and Harbaugh will likely try to establish the run to control the clock and keep Patrick Mahomes off the field. Herbert is averaging just 28.6 pass attempts per game, and it would be surprising to see him exceed that number on Sunday against Kansas City.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes Over 226.5 passing yards (-113)
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are coming off a bye, meaning they’ve had plenty of extra prep time for this matchup against the Chargers. The LA passing defense has been solid this season, ranking 6th by allowing 193.0 passing yards per game. But with plenty of time to rest and prepare, KC offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy and company should have a solid game plan in place. After throwing for just 184 yards in Week 1, Mahomes has posted passing yard totals of 382, 246, and 225 over the last three weeks. Getting to 227 seems well within the realm of possibility in this one.
Los Angeles Chargers
Herbert has struggled with turnovers, as he has more interceptions (7) than touchdown passes (5). With Ladd McConkey battling injuries, Tre’ Harris has emerged as Los Angeles’ top wide receiver so far this season. Through five games, Harris has 15 catches for 225 yards. The Chargers’ offensive line is banged up, and the Chiefs’ defensive front is dangerous.
Kansas City Chiefs
Kenneth Walker III has been impressive to begin his tenure with the Chiefs. The reigning Super Bowl MVP has already racked up 537 rushing yards, which ranks 2nd in the NFL despite paying just four games. He’s averaging a strong 6.2 yards per rush and has found the end zone four times on the ground. He had just five total rushing touchdowns last year in the regular season with Seattle. Walker has also been a threat in the passing game with 12 catches for 84 yards and two touchdowns.
