Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards Prediction, NBA Odds
The Raptors come out of their mini-Christmas break Friday night and conclude a three-game road trip when they visit the horrible Washington Wizards. Toronto is -7.5 on the NBA odds with a total of 228.5.
Raptors vs. Wizards NBA Betting Odds
There is never any guarantee of an NBA win and especially on the road, but the Dinos have truly no right falling Friday to conclude this three-game trip. There are a handful of NBA teams full-out tanking this season already because the 2026 draft class is expected to be loaded. No one is taking more than five-win Washington. It hasn’t won back-to-back games all season and is 2-10 at home.
I’d expect the team to trade veteran guards CJ McCollum and Khris Middleton if there is any interest in those guys at the deadline because they just don’t fit on this otherwise very young roster – although it’s always nice to have a few adults in the locker room. Both would certainly help a contender.
Friday marks the second of three regular-season meetings with the series ending on Feb. 28 also in Washington, D.C. The Raptors won the first, 140-110 at home on Nov. 21 as 14-point favourites (total was 238.5). That was an NBA Cup game. Brandon Ingram and RJ Barrett each scored 24 points and Scottie Barnes had 23. McCollum led the Wizards, who are 29th in scoring defence at 126.1 PPG, with 20 points. Bilal Coulibaly gave Washington its only lead by scoring the game’s opening basket on a fast-break dunk.
Toronto is 8-2 SU & 7-2-1 ATS in the past 10 meetings, with the over-under at 3-7.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto was on an ugly two-game skid and was a 5.5-point underdog on Tuesday in Miami but played its best game in weeks, rolling to a 112-91 victory despite playing without Jakob Poeltl. He aggravated his back in Sunday’s loss to Brooklyn and will miss this one as well. Sandro Mamukelashvili moved into the starting five and played well with 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds with a plus-19 rating in just 27 minutes.
Rookie Collin Murray-Boyles had 11 points and 13 rebounds for his first double-double. His nine offensive boards tied Scottie Barnes for the most by a Raptors rookie since 2022. However, CMB is questionable tonight with an illness. Barnes was very aggressive with 27 points, 18 of those coming at the rim. Toronto has won 17 of the past 20 away games in this series. It has reached 18 wins in 31 games after taking 57 to do so in 2024-25. The Dinos are 3-10 ATS in their past 13.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards actually have won twice in their past five but also been routed in back-to-back games, most recently 126-109 in Charlotte on Tuesday. Centre Alex Sarr, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, has been in-and-out of the lineup lately but played in that one and is not on the injury report for tonight. The Frenchman had a season-low seven points but also 11 rebounds and four blocks. He’s among the league leaders at 2.0 blocks per game.
Another young part of the team’s future (it hopes) in guard Bub Carrington left with an apparent foot problem but is also not listed on the injury report. The No. 14 overall pick in the 2024 draft, still just 20, averages 8.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. Carrington has made at least one three-pointer in a career-best 21 straight games. Another young guy in Cam Whitmore (9.2 PPG) is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with upper-extremity deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder. He was traded from Houston in July for two second-round picks. The Wizards are 4-2 ATS in their past six.
