Giants vs. Raiders Point Spread: NFL Week 17 Odds, Prediction

Two teams playing out the string and for potentially the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft meet on Sunday in Week 17 as the New York Giants visit the Las Vegas Raiders with Big Blue as a 1.5-point favourite and a total of 41.5 on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

This is the worst matchup of Week 17 and 2025 in the NFL by far on paper with the Giants and Raiders tied for the league’s worst mark at 2-13 and both on matching nine-game winning streaks. Probably will be plenty of good seats available in Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon.

But just because both teams are terrible doesn’t mean there’s no intrigue. For one thing, another embarrassing loss for the Raiders might force owner Mark Davis’ hand in firing coach Pete Carroll after just one season as it has been a disaster. Carroll fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly a few weeks ago but that has changed nothing. The Giants fired their head coach, Brian Daboll, several weeks ago.

And with Tennessee winning on Sunday, now the loser of this game is in the driver’s seat for the top pick in the 2026 NFL draft. The Raiders almost surely will be taking a quarterback with Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza, the Heisman winner, the current favourite to go No. 1 overall. The Giants got their QB of the future in the 2025 draft in Jaxson Dart, so they would look somewhere else or just trade the pick for a bunch of assets.

The Raiders are 9-6 all-time vs. the Giants with the last meeting also in Las Vegas in 2023 and the Silver & Black rolling to a 30-6 win.

New York Giants

New York had every chance to snap its eight-game skid on Sunday at home vs. Minnesota but lost, 16-13. Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart clearly was a bit confused by a good Vikings defence as he was just 7-for-13 for 33 yards with an interception. Amazingly, the Giants did not attempt a pass until their 17th offensive play. That hadn’t happened in the NFL since 2017 and that was in a blizzard in Buffalo. Dart had all of 2 yards passing in the first half. “Just not let it happen again,” Dart said on what he takes from Sunday’s performance. Two offensive lineman in tackle Andrew Thomas and centre John Michael Schmitz got hurt. Guard Jon Runyan missed it injured. There were two defensive bright spots as safety Tyler Nubin had a 27-yard fumble return for a score in the second quarter for the team’s first defensive TD since 2023. Pass-rusher Brian Burns had two more sacks to reach 15, the first Giants player with that many in a season since 2011. New York has lost a team-record 13 straight road games.

Las Vegas Raiders

It’s cause for celebration when the Raiders even reach 20 points this year, but they got to 21 on Sunday against the NFL’s best defence in the Texans but lost by two in Houston. QB Geno Smith was an offseason trade acquisition and threw his 15th pick of the year (tied for most in the NFL and most by a Raiders QB since 2011) but had two TD throws. By far the offensive bright spot was rookie running back Ashton Jeanty, who rushed 128 yards and a 51-yard TD while also catching a 60-yard score. Jeanty became the first NFL player with a 50-yard rushing touchdown and 50-yard receiving touchdown in the same game since 2015. Jeanty has become the fourth rookie in history with at least five rushing and five receiving scores in a season. The 13 losses are the most in a season for coach Pete Carroll. Wideout Tyler Lockett left with a wrist injury. Las Vegas is 1-7 in its past eight at home.
