Senators vs. Golden Knights NHL Betting Odds, Picks: Ottawa begins five-game road trip in Vegas
The Ottawa Senators have played seven of their last nine games at home, but now hit the road for a five-game road trip. The trip begins with a matchup against the Golden Knights on Tuesday night in Vegas.
The Golden Knights are looking to end a losing skid when the Senators come to town. Vegas has lost three games in a row, falling 2-1 to Columbus in its most recent outing on Saturday.
It is the first meeting of the season between these two teams. Ottawa won the most recent matchup by a score of 7-1 in Ottawa back on January 25.
Senators vs. Golden Knights NHL Betting Odds
Oddsmakers are giving the edge to the home team. Vegas enters this matchup with moneyline odds of -155, while Ottawa is +130 to win on the road.
On the puckline, Golden Knights -1.5 is valued at +160, while Senators +1.5 is -192. The game total is set at 6.5, with odds of -105 on the Over and -115 on the Under.
At +170, Vegas’ Jack Eichel has the shortest odds of any player to score a goal in this contest. Eichel scored 27 goals in 74 games last season, and has six goals through 13 games to start the 2026-27 campaign.
Also with odds of +185, Ottawa’s Tim Stutzle has the shortest odds of any Senator to find the back of the net in this one. Stutzle potted 34 goals in 80 games last season, and leads Ottawa with eight goals through 12 games so far this season
Ottawa Senators
The Senators were dealt a tough blow last week when No. 1 goaltender Linus Ullmark went down with a lower body injury on Wednesday against the Panthers. He has since been placed on IR, and is slated to miss the next 1-2 weeks.
In Ullmark’s absence, Samuel Ersson figures to step up as Ottawa’s go-to netminder in the short term. Ersson is off to a rough start, as he is 0-3-0 with a 4.59 goals-against average and .835 save percentage through five appearances this season.
Tim Stutzle leads the Senators with 16 points through 12 games. Stutzle is pacing the team with eight goals, two of which have come on the power play. With Brady Tkachuk gone, Stutzle figures to see plenty of scoring opportunities all season long.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas offence has gone cold during its current three-game losing streak. The Golden Knights have scored just five total goals over those three games after potting 17 total goals in their three previous games. Perhaps returning home will change their fortune, as the VGK rank sixth in the NHL by scoring 3.86 goals per game on home ice so far this season.
Three Golden Knight skaters have reached the double-digit point mark already this season. Jack Eichel leads the way with 19 points on six goals and 13 assists, while Mark Stone has 15 points and Mitch Marner has 12 points of his own.
The Vegas power play is operating at a strong 24.4 per cent, but the penalty kill has struggled mightily. The Golden Knights have killed off just 67.6 per cent of opposing power plays, which ranks 28th in the NHL.
NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Senators vs. Golden Knights?
The Golden Knights are hungry to end their three-game losing streak, and now that they return to home ice, they are in a good spot to make it happen.
Vegas has a well-rounded forward group that is among the best in the NHL, while Ottawa is still adjusting to life without Brady Tkachuk. It doesn’t help that William Eklund, who was brought in to play LW following Tkachuk’s departure, is on IR with an ankle injury.
Vegas has a strong home ice advantage, and that should propel them to a victory.
