Heat vs. Warriors Prediction, NBA Odds: Six straight wins for Warriors?
Miami’s early-season identity remains difficult to pin down through eight games in the Giannis era and the Heat now visit Golden State on Thursday, after escaping with a 117-116 overtime win over the Clippers on Wednesday which was sealed by a Klay Thompson three-pointer.
Golden State has found new life in rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, whose partnership with Stephen Curry has transformed the team’s outlook after an 0-3 start and they head into this contest chasing a sixth consecutive victory.
Heat vs. Warriors NBA Betting Odds
The Warriors are set as 7.5-point favourites on the NBA odds board.
Golden State’s surge is backed by strong shooting. The Warriors rank second in the NBA at 38.9% from three-point range and fourth in offensive rating.
Miami sits 15th in offensive rating and 20th in three-point percentage at 33.5%. The Heat’s schedule disadvantage is significant, but the spread asks Golden State to win by at least eight points against a team with enough offensive talent to stay within reach.
Miami Heat
Miami’s 117-116 overtime victory over the Clippers was dramatic, but it offered little evidence that the defence has turned a corner. The Heat have allowed at least 116 points in four straight games, and Wednesday’s total was their lowest concession in that span.
They rank 26th in defensive rating and are allowing opponents to shoot 40.5% from beyond the arc, the worst mark in the league. That weakness is especially concerning against Golden State.
Miami ranks 27th in three-point attempts allowed, while the Warriors are one of the league’s most efficient long-range teams. The Heat do have a route to keeping this close, as they rank seventh in taking care of the ball and force turnovers at a high rate, a useful advantage against a Warriors team that ranks 23rd in that category.
Golden State Warriors
Golden State looked lifeless during its opening three-game losing streak, but five straight wins have changed the conversation. Curry is averaging 30 points in just 28 minutes per game, while Lendeborg is contributing more than 20 points per game on a 64% true-shooting mark. His scoring has given Curry another reliable option and made the Warriors’ offence harder to contain.
The Warriors are not without vulnerabilities. They rank 22nd in defensive rating and 25th in fast-break points allowed. They also give up points off turnovers, an area where Miami’s careful ball handling could matter. Still, two full days of rest give Golden State a clear physical advantage over a Heat team coming off overtime.
NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Heat vs. Warriors?
The obvious angle is Golden State. The Warriors are rested, at home and playing their best basketball of the season, while Miami is on the second night of a back-to-back.
That is precisely why I’m taking the points with the Heat. Miami has enough offensive firepower to exploit Golden State’s defensive shortcomings, and its ability to protect the ball can limit the Warriors’ easy scoring chances.
