NFL Point Spreads Week 15: Best Picks Against the Spread
Here’s a quick look at all the Week 15 matchups with Sports Interaction NFL odds. Games Sunday unless noted.
Thursday Night Football Point Spreads
It’s the final Thursday night game of the season and quite possibly the worst matchup of them all – but you can bet on it! Both the Broncos and Colts have vastly underachieved this season mostly due to quarterback issues. The loser is the winner in terms of improving draft position.
Pick ATS: Denver Broncos
Saturday Night Football Point Spreads
It’s a 4:30 p.m. ET start from the Motor City between NFC North rivals. Both come off victories as Chicago was an underdog victor in Cincinnati with rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky having his best game as a pro. The Lions kept their wild-card hopes alive with a 24-21 victory at Tampa Bay on a Matt Prater 46-yard field goal in the final seconds. Detroit goes for the season sweep as it won in Chicago in Week 11, 27-24. Prater kicked a 52-yard field goal with 1:35 remaining, and Chicago’s (former) kicker missed from 46 in the final seconds.
Pick ATS: Detroit Lions
This AFC West matchup kicks off at 8:25 p.m. ET. The teams are tied for first in the division and both won Sunday. Kansas City won at the Chargers in Week 3, 24-10 – the Chiefs were 3-0 after that and the Chargers 0-3. Kareem Hunt ran for 172 yards for a score in the Chiefs’ seventh straight win in the series. Philip Rivers was picked off three times for the Chargers.
Pick ATS: Kansas City
Sunday NFL Point Spreads
Jacksonville, solo first place in the AFC South, served notice in Week 1 that it was a much better team this year with a 29-7 rout in Houston. The Jaguars set a team record with 10 sacks – four by Calais Campbell – and forced four turnovers. Leonard Fournette ran for 100 yards and a TD in his NFL debut. Houston already lost starting QB Deshaun Watson to a season-ending injury earlier this year and might not have backup QB Tom Savage for this one. He left Sunday’s loss to the 49ers with a concussion. T.J. Yates would get the call if Savage can’t go.
Pick ATS: Houston
This is Cleveland’s home finale as it tries to avoid 0-16 infamy – it nearly beat the Packers on Sunday but blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead and lost in OT. The Browns haven’t won on the road since early in the 2015 season so this would seem to be their last, best chance to avoid a winless campaign. Cleveland lost in Baltimore in Week 2, 24-10. The Ravens forced five turnovers, including picking off rookie QB DeShone Kizer three times. Joe Flacco had two TD throws.
Pick ATS: Baltimore Ravens
Huge game in the NFC wild-card chase and a certain two-time NFL MVP quarterback of the Packers is expected to return from his broken collarbone suffered in Week 6. Green Bay kept its playoff hopes alive with a 27-21 overtime victory at winless Cleveland on Sunday. The Pack trailed 21-7 entering the fourth quarter. Backup QB Brett Hundley threw for three scores. Carolina moved into a tie for first in the NFC South with a 31-24 win over the previously red-hot Vikings. Jonathan Stewart rushed for 103 yards and three scores.
Pick ATS: TBA
Short week for Miami as it hosted New England on Monday … and likely lost. Buffalo beat the Colts in a blizzard, 13-7 in overtime on a LeSean McCoy 21-yard run with 1:33 to go in OT. Starting QB Tyrod Taylor was out with a knee injury and backup rookie Nathan Peterman left in the third with a head injury. Remains to be seen who will start this week. Might be third-stringer Joe Webb. It’s the first meeting between these teams, which is very unusual this late in the year. They close the season against one another in Miami. The Dolphins won both matchups in 2016.
Pick ATS: TBA
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer was Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator from 2008-13. Cincinnati was missing a handful of injured defensive starters and was totally flat in a 33-7 home loss to the Bears on Sunday. It was the Bengals’ worst home loss since 2008. Minnesota missed a chance to clinch the NFC North and saw its eight-game winning streak snapped in a 31-24 loss in Carolina. Case Keenum threw two interceptions and lost a fumble.
Pick ATS: Cincinnati Bengals
The main link between these franchises is that current Jets offensive coordinator John Morton spent the previous two seasons as the Saints’ wide receivers coach. The Jets are just playing out the string and were blown out Sunday in Denver, with QB Josh McCown reportedly breaking his non-throwing hand so he might be done for the season. New Orleans lost Thursday night in Atlanta as Drew Brees was picked off late in the Falcons end zone. The Saints are tied atop the NFC South with Carolina.
Pick ATS: TBA
Terrible news for the Eagles on Sunday. They clinched the NFC East with a shootout victory at the Rams but star quarterback Carson Wentz, an NFL MVP favourite, tore his ACL. He left in the third quarter. Needless to say, that completely changes the NFC playoff picture. The Giants have been terrible this year but did play the Eagles tough in a Week 3 27-24 loss. Philly’s Jake Elliott hit the winning 61-yard field goal as time expired. It was the longest make in Eagles history and the longest game-winner by a rookie in league history. New York lost a third straight Sunday, 30-10 vs. Dallas in the team’s first game since firing Coach Ben McAdoo and GM Jerry Reese.
Pick ATS: TBA
Arizona pulled a minor upset Sunday in beating visiting Tennessee 12-7. Not often you will see an NFL team win without reaching the end zone, but that’s what the Cards did as all their points were from the foot of Phil Dawson. Washington was blown out for the second game in a row, falling 30-13 at the Chargers. Kirk Cousins had his worst game of the season in throwing for just 151 yards. The Redskins have won seven straight home games against the Cardinals dating to 1999.
Pick ATS: Washington
Very important game in the NFC Wes as the Rams lead the Seahawks by a game. L.A. was beaten at home Sunday by Philadelphia, 43-35. The Seahawks lost in Jacksonville, 30-24. Russell Wilson was picked off three times. The Rams’ high-scoring offense has only been shut down a few times this season, with one coming at home vs. the Seahawks in a 16-10 loss in Week 5. Seattle had only 241 yards of offence but forced five Rams turnovers.
Pick ATS: Seattle Seahawks
This is arguably the biggest game of the 2017 regular season as the winner will be in the driver’s seat to have home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Most expect these teams to meet in the AFC Championship Game for the second year in a row. It’s a short week for New England as it visited Miami on Monday night. Pittsburgh rallied for a victory over Baltimore on Sunday night as Ben Roethlisberger became the first QB in league history with three career 500-yard games.
Pick ATS: TBA
Just the fifth all-time meeting between these franchises with it tied 2-2. San Francisco is 2-0 under new starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo following a 26-16 victory in Houston on Sunday. Garoppolo threw for a career-high 334 yards and a touchdown. Tennessee fell out of first in the AFC South following a 12-7 loss at Arizona. Marcus Mariota was held to 159 yards passing and picked off twice.
Pick ATS: Tennessee
Sunday Night Football Point Spreads
The Sunday night game will do huge ratings in the USA even though the Cowboys and Raiders have not lived up to expectations because they are both mega-popular franchises not just in America but around the world. The Cowboys have that star on the helmet and have long been considered the NFL’s “good guys” and America’s Team, while the Raiders have one of the most recognizable logos in sports and used to be a franchise full of renegade players (and an owner) fitting of the team’s nickname. If neither of these things make sense, ask your dad or grandfather.
Pick ATS: Oakland
Monday Night Football Point Spreads
The Falcons likely saved their playoff hopes with a 20-17 win over the Saints on Sunday thanks to a late interception of Drew Brees. Tampa lost a third in a row Sunday, 24-21 to Detroit. Bucs QB Jameis Winston had three more turnovers in what has been a disappointing season. Atlanta beat visiting Tampa Bay 34-20 in Week 12. Falcons receiver Julio Jones was unstoppable with 12 catches for 253 yards and two scores – one of those TD catches on a trick play from fellow WR Mohamed Sanu.
Pick ATS: Atlanta
