The Kansas City Chiefs are still in control of their playoff destiny but that won’t be the case if they lose to the Los Angeles Chargers at home on the Saturday night.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Chargers opened as 2-point road favourites on the Sports Interaction NFL odds board with the total set at 46.5.

Kansas City ended its four-game losing streak thanks to a 26-15 win over division rival Oakland on Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs are still a dreadful 2-6 straight up and against the spread in their last eight games after starting the season a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS.

The Chargers collected their four straight win and seventh victory in their last nine games. The Bolts’ season is the polar opposite of the Chiefs. Los Angeles started the year 0-4 SU (0-3-1 ATS) in its first four games and went 7-2 SU and ATS over its last nine games.

The Chiefs are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against the Bolts but Sports Interaction sees the Chargers as the bigger threat in the postseason. Los Angeles is the third favourite to win the AFC at +900 behind New England (+100) and Pittsburgh (+190), and ahead of Jacksonville (+950) and Kansas City (+1400).

Los Angeles Chargers

NFL fans should enjoy this Philip Rivers revival in Los Angeles. The 36-year-old quarterback has thrown for 1348 yards with eight touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 69 percent of his passes during the Chargers’ four-game win streak.

Protecting Rivers against the Chiefs will be a priority. LA starting left tackle Russell Okung left Sunday’s game due to injury and could miss this weekend’s game.

Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City’s defense remains hit or miss but the club’s offense seems to be back on track. The Chiefs have surpassed 400 total yards in back to back games since head coach Andy Reid ceded the offensive play-calling duties to OC Matt Nagy.
