2026 Week 10 CFL Power Rankings: Elks and Riders continue to flip-flop position
The very top and bottom of the Week 10 CFL power rankings hasn’t changed, but the rest of the league continues to jockey for position.
The Elks and Riders continue to flip-flop near the top of the rankings, while Winnipeg tumbled the furthest down the list. The Lions were the highest climbers, with Calgary, Toronto and Hamilton standing pat.

1. Montreal Alouettes (1)
Record: 7-1
Week 9 result: W 34-13 @ OTT
Week 10 opponent: vs. EDM
Montreal continued their assault on the league with a second straight double digit win last week. Davis Alexander went off for 420 passing yards and three TDs, bringing his season total to a CFL-best 2,788 yards through the air. Alexander has combined with the league’s leading receiver, Tyson Philpot (1,023 receiving yards), to keep the Alouettes atop the standings and our power rankings.
2. Saskatchewan Roughriders (3)
Record: 5-2
Week 9 result: W 28-26 @ EDM
Week 10 opponent: vs. OTT
It was a revenge game for the Riders last week after dropping the first part of a home-and-home series with Edmonton in Week 8. The most impressive aspect of last week’s win was that it came without A.J. Ouellette, Samuel Emilus and Rolan Milligan Jr. Backup quarterback Tommy Stevens was clutch with three short-yardage TDs.
3. Edmonton Elks (2)
Record: 6-2
Week 9 result: L 28-26 vs. SSK
Week 10 opponent: @ MTL
Penalties were costly for Edmonton in Week 9. The Elks lost a goal line stand because of a too-many-men call, defensive end Noah Taylor was ejected for embellishment and a potential game-winning drive ended because of a roughing-the-passer infraction. Discipline has to be key in a tough road outing to Montreal this week.
4. Calgary Stampeders (4)
Record: 4-4
Week 9 result: W 44-20 @ HAM
Week 10 opponent: @ TOR
Vernon Adams Jr. once again silenced any doubters in Week 9, adding another passing touchdown to his league-leading total of 21. Adams remains at zero interceptions on the year after he was saved by a roughing-the-passer penalty. Calgary’s defence is also clicking with four forced turnovers last week, including two returned for touchdowns. The Stamps look legit.
5. Toronto Argonauts (5)
Record: 3-4
Week 9 result: Bye
Week 10 opponent: vs. CGY
It took 10 weeks, but Toronto is finally playing a home game at BMO Field. The Argos have officially survived an early-season road schedule and they should be feeling good off last week’s bye. Plus, Toronto is breathing a sigh of relief with quarterback Chad Kelly reportedly ready to play after an neck injury scare.
6. B.C. Lions (8)
Record: 2-5
Week 9 result: W 35-19 @ WPG
Week 10 opponent: vs. HAM
The Lions are just treading water until quarterback Nathan Rourke returns from an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. Chase Brice was horrendous in his only CFL start, so rookie Kaidon Salter is at the helm for now. Salter only threw the ball 15 times last week (seven completions for 96 yards), but he did add a monster 160 rushing yards on 10 carries. Zander Horvath was even more impressive with 191 rushing yards and three scores.
7. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (7)
Record: 3-5
Week 9 result: L 44-20 vs. CGY
Week 10 opponent: @ BC
Hamilton is in an even worse spot at quarterback than B.C. with Bo Levi Mitchell possibly done for the year. Tre Ford wasn’t the answer last week as he was benched by the end of the first half. Harrison Frost was only marginally better in relief, completing nine-of-20 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown, but he should be the man under centre going forward.
8. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (6)
Record: 4-4
Week 9 result: L 35-19 vs. BC
Week 10 opponent: Bye
The Bombers are a perfect 3-0 on the road this season, but a baffling 1-4 record at Princess Auto Stadium has halted any positive momentum. With quarterback Zach Collaros already on the shelf, Dru Brown continued to struggle in a third straight start last week before leaving late with an injury. Taylor Elgersma was terrible in relief, but Winnipeg can at least cling to a little hope that Collaros might be ready to return after this week’s bye.
9. Ottawa RedBlacks (9)
Record: 0-7
Week 9 result: L 34-13 vs. MTL
Week 10 opponent: @ SSK
It’s almost a waste of time to continue talking about the RedBlacks. They stink in every aspect of the game and it finally cost defensive coordinator Will Fields his job last week. At 0-7, Ottawa has to do something no CFL team has ever done if they want to reach the playoffs.
