Jets vs. Bills Point Spread: NFL Week 14 Odds, Prediction
Both clubs have a snowball’s chance in hell of making the playoffs but there’s bound to be some feistiness between these two AFC East rivals.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The stench of ugly football and failure to cover spreads is coming off Gang Green. The Jets did cover the number as 10.5-point underdogs against the Titans, but that’s of little consolation to moneyline bettors who saw the Jets blow a 16-point lead in the second quarter.
NYJ is now 0-6 straight up and 1-5 against the spread over its last six contests. The club enters this weekend at 3-9 SU and 4-8 ATS on the season. The Jets haven’t soared too often in recent meetings against the Bills either.
New York is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games against Buffalo. The Bills dismantled the Jets 41-10 just four weeks ago at MetLife Stadium, but that was without Sam Darnold under centre for Gang Green.
The Bills saw their mini win streak end after losing 21-17 to the Miami Dolphins as 3.5-point away underdogs. The team dropped to 4-8 SU and 5-7 ATS on the campaign and they own one of the worst point differentials in the NFL at -115.
New York Jets
It’s another lost season for New York Jet supporters. Fans knew it would be a rebuilding year after the club decided to move ahead with rookie Sam Darnold as the starting quarterback. The third overall pick in the 2018 draft was having some ups and downs, but was forced to the sidelines when he picked up a foot injury in a Week 9 loss against the Miami Dolphins.
The Jets turned over the keys to the offence – such as it is – to veteran signal caller and 2017 starter Josh McCown and mixed results ensued. Darnold is questionable to play this weekend but bettors shouldn’t expect much of an improvement at the position should the former USC standout make his return to the Jets’ lineup.
Buffalo Bills
Dual-threat quarterback wasn’t on many of the scouting reports for Josh Allen when NFL teams were considering drafting the former Wyoming player in the 2018 draft. Allen was touted for his large arm, not his quick feet, but he’s been showing off his elusiveness in recent weeks.
Allen picked up 135 rushing yards on nine attempts against the Phins, just a week after he collected 99 yards on the ground against the Jaguars. He might be running so often because of the lack capable receivers on the roster.
The Bills cut ties with wideout Kelvin Benjamin on Tuesday. The former No. 1 target for Cam Newton in Carolina hauled in just 23 catches for 354 receiving yards this season with the Bills.
