Denver Nuggets vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds

The Toronto Raptors aim to close out 2025 on a winning note when they host the Denver Nuggets on new year’s Even in an NBA betting matchup at Scotiabank Arena. The Raptors have claimed victory in the first two fates of their current five-game home stand, capped by Monday’s narrow 107-106 win over Orlando, and have won five of eight overall to maintain sole possession of fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Conversely, the Nuggets have gone winless in the first two dates on their current seven-game road trip, extending their current road losing streak to three games, but remain in control of third place in the West.

The Raptors enter Wednesday’s action perched as 6.5-point home favourites on the NBA odds. The Nuggets trail as +220 underdogs on the NBA moneyline, and the total is set at 228.5.

Nuggets vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

The Raptors fell to defeat in a pair of meetings with the Nuggets last season including a narrow 127-125 early-season home loss, and have now lost four straight to Denver and three of their past for meetings on home hardwood. However, the Raptors have remained a reliable bet when facing the Nuggets, covering the spread in six of seven dates with Denver including three straight ATS wins at Scotiabank Arena.

These two teams have regularly combined to put up big point totals when they meet, topping 230 six times during a 6-1 run for the OVER. But the UNDER has been the far more reliable wager when they Raptors hit the court, going 15-6 in their past 21 contests but just 7-5 in their past 12 home dates.

The Nuggets offence has been clicking, averaging 131.2 points in their past five outings, but the Denver defence has failed to keep pace, giving up 135.8 points per game during the club’s current 1-3 swoon.

Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets suffered a severe blow with the loss this week of superstar Nicola Jokic for at least four weeks after the big man suffered a knee injury in the closing minutes of Monday’s 147-123 loss to Miami. Jokic has been the driving force behind the Nuggets’ top-ranked offence, leading the squad with 19.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 11 assists per game and had recorded triple-doubles in five of eight outings prior to getting hurt.

With Jokic on the shelf, responsibility for leading the club will fall on the shoulders of Jamal Murray. The Kitchener, Ontario native ranks second in team scoring with 25.2 points per game and has posted double-doubles in three of his past four outings including a sensational 35-point performance on Christmas Day that featured nine threes in a 142-138 win over Minnesota. The loss of Jokic also likely means a bigger assignment for Jonas Valanciunas. The former Raptors big man has yet to make a start this season but has scored in the double digits in four of his past six outings in which he has played more than 10 minutes.

Toronto Raptors

The supporting cast stepped into the spotlight in Monday’s win over the Magic, with Jamal Shead leading the way with a season-high 19 points. That marked the first time in nine games that the 23-year-old guard has scored in double digits, but the second time in four home games, further justifying the increased playing time he has received over the past two games.

Gradey Dick contributed 15 points in just 15 minutes off the bench while Ja’Kobe Walter added 10 points, bringing the total number of Raptors shooters scoring 10 or more points to seven. Scottie Barnes took a step back after a sensational triple-double performance in Sunday’s 141-127 victory over Golden State that featured 25 rebounds. Barnes mustered just 13 points but still recorded 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the month, and is a -110 bet on the NBA player props to score another double-double on Wednesday night.
