Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford was outstanding against the Giants, completing 22 of 31 passes for 327 yards and four TDs. Davante Adams took over downfield with Puca Nacua unavailable, catching eight passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
That performance demonstrated that the Rams can get the job done without Nacua, but the Broncos present a bigger challenge. Denver possess a talented pass rush and an elite secondary, which Stafford has described as one of the best the Rams will face all season.
Nacua did not practice Wednesday or Thursday after missing Week 2 with a groin injury and appears unlikely to play. Jordan Whittington returned on a limited basis Thursday, providing at least some encouraging news downfield.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos offence showed far more life in the second half against Jacksonville after struggling badly in its opener. Bo Nix completed 22 of 31 passes for 288 yards and one TD last week after Denver fell behind 13-3, powering a 17-0 game-ending run, while the defence slammed the door on the Jags attack.
Rushers JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey were both full participants on Thursday. Harvey missed Week 2 with a hamstring injury, while Dobbins has rushed 18 times for 72 yards through two games. The return of Harvey alongside Dobbins should give Denver a better opportunity to stage a balanced attack and keep Stafford off the field.
