The Commanders have endured a rough start to the season. Not only are they 0-2, but franchise QB Jayden Daniels suffered another significant elbow injury last week against Dallas.
Daniels is still undergoing further evaluation, but backup Marcus Mariota is slated to get the starting nod on Sunday afternoon. Mariota completed 11 of his 16 pass attempts for 111 yards and a touchdown in last week’s 37-20 loss to the Cowboys.

The Seahawks enter this matchup riding an impressive 12-game winning streak. They haven’t lost since Week 11 of last season by a score of 21-19 to the Rams. It was their only road loss of the campaign.
The Commanders have won just two of their last 10 games going back to last season, and have struggled at home. Washington hasn’t won a game on home soil since Week 3 of last term against Las Vegas. Since then, they have dropped six games in a row.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 6.5 receptions (-112)
There’s a chance that Darnold returns in this game. He is currently listed as questionable, but even if he can’t go, it’s clear that Jaxon Smith-Njigba has a strong connection with Drew Lock.
Smith-Njigba has been targeted 11 times in each game this season, bringing in 17 catches for a whopping 277 yards and four touchdowns.
Seattle’s second-highest producing receiver is Cooper Kupp with four catches for 55 yards. No matter who is at QB, Smith-Njigba will get an overwhelming amount of opportunities. Look for Seattle to continue feeding him.
Marcus Mariota Over 0.5 interceptions (-134)
Marcus Mariota is an experienced campaigner, so he won’t be intimidated by Seattle’s elite defence. But that doesn’t mean he won’t face a plethora of challenges.
Mariota threw seven interceptions in 11 games last season, and the Seahawks ranked fifth in the NFL with 18 interceptions in the regular season last year.
Mike Macdonald is one of the brightest defensive minds out there, and he figures to have a strong game plan in place to confuse Mariota.

Seattle’s backfield looks a lot different than it did last season. Kenneth Walker III is now in Kansas City, and Zach Charbonnet began the season on IR.
With all of that production to replace, as well as Darnold going down in Week 1, the Seahawks offence has already gone through plenty of adversity.
But rookie Jadarian Price has stepped up by rushing for 105 yards and 4.5 yards per carry through two games, while Lock has been poised at the helm of the offence and his efforts helped lead Seattle to a 31-point performance last week against Arizona.
Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels isn’t the only key injury that the Commanders are dealing with entering Week 3. Safety Nick Cross has already been ruled out of Sunday’s contest, while safety Jeremy Reaves, linebacker Frankie Luvu, defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw, right guard Sam Cosmi, and tight end Chig Okonkwo were all held out of practice on Wednesday.
They are all listed as questionable at the time of writing and it looks like Washington’s depth on both sides of the ball is going to be seriously tested in this one.
