In the wake of last week’s narrow victory, the Stampeders travel to the nation’s capital pegged as slim 2.5-point road favourites on the CFL Week 17 odds. The RedBlacks trail as a +125 CFL moneyline underdogs and the total is listed at 62.5.

Saturday afternoon’s matchup marks the final meeting of the season between these squads. With last week’s win, the Stamps halted a five-game losing streak versus the RedBlacks. However, they were outclassed in their two most recent visits to Ottawa, falling to defeat by a combined 64-17 margin.
With Calgary scoring 12 or fewer points three times over its past six meetings with the RedBlacks, CFL totals bettors have endured mixed results, with the OVER/UNDER going 3-3, but recent tilts in Ottawa have been low scoring, with the total failing to top 42 during a 4-0 run for the UNDER.
While the Stampeders remain in the playoff hunt, they have regularly let opportunities slip away while losing four of six, with four of those contests getting settled by five or fewer points. As a result, Calgary is a disappointing 1-4 ATS in their past five as betting chalk.

The RedBlacks have shown signs that they are ready to emerge from the wilderness, and one of the big reasons why is the play of McLeod Bethel-Thompson. The 38-year-old pivot flashed vintage form last week while connecting for 379 passing yards and five TDs and has provided his team with a chance to win while the leading the offence in each of the past two games.
Justin Harvey was by far Bethel-Thompson’s favourite receiver, pulling in 12 of 19 targets for a season-best 129 yards and one score, and more of the same should be expected on Saturday afternoon.
Indeed, neither defence in this matchup inspires confidence. Ottawa ranks last in points, total yards, passing yards and rushing yards allowed, while Calgary is also among the CFL’s bottom scoring defences. That could make for another entertaining, but sloppy contest, particularly for CFL bettors taking the OVER.
