Fever vs. Lynx WNBA Betting Odds, Picks: Indiana playing for crucial postseason positioning
Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx close the regular season on Thursday night with the rubber match of their three-game season series.
The Lynx won the first meeting 108-100 on Aug. 2, while the Fever answered Tuesday with a 96-77 victory in Indiana. Minnesota has already locked up the No. 1 seed, while Indiana still has meaningful playoff positioning at stake.
A Fever loss, combined with a Washington win over Chicago, could drop Indiana to the No. 6 seed and potentially send it into a first-round matchup against defending champion Las Vegas rather than Atlanta.
The Fever are 3.5-point favourites to win on the WNBA odds, with the total set at 182.5.
Fever vs. Lynx WNBA Odds and Betting Trends
Indiana enters with the league’s No. 1 offensive rating by a comfortable margin and remains one of the WNBA’s most dangerous three-point teams.
Minnesota’s defence allows more three-point attempts than any other team while they also struggle at the other end of the court, as they get to the free-throw line at the lowest rate in the league.
Indiana Fever
Indiana looked much sharper on Tuesday after an uneven stretch following the FIBA World Cup break.
Caitlin Clark finished with 27 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, Kelsey Mitchell scored 20, and Aliyah Boston added 17 points and seven boards.
The Fever jumped ahead 31-16 after one quarter and led by as many as 29 points before Minnesota’s reserves made a third-quarter push.
Indiana also forced 17 turnovers and turned them into 21 points while recording 27 assists, its third-highest total of the season.
Mitchell has now scored at least 20 points in 27 consecutive games, while Clark continues to drive the league’s most efficient offence.
Minnesota Lynx
Minnesota enters with less incentive to push its rotation after clinching the No. 1 seed.
Olivia Miles missed Tuesday’s matchup with a calf injury and remains out for the finale. The rookie averaged 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and six assists.
Head coach Cheryl Reeve was cautious with her starters on Tuesday, sitting most of them for large stretches after Indiana built a large early lead. That approach could continue with the postseason secured.
Minnesota remains dangerous from three-point range and owns one of the league’s better overall defences, but protecting health now matters more than chasing one extra regular-season victory.
WNBA Prediction: Who Will Win Fever vs. Lynx?
The Fever are still fighting to maintain their playoff seed, while Minnesota has already accomplished everything it can in the standings. That motivational gap matters even more after Reeve showed on Tuesday that she is willing to limit starters rather than risk injury.
Indiana also matches up well stylistically. The Fever can attack Minnesota’s high volume of three-point attempts allowed, own the stronger defensive rebounding profile and have the more explosive offence.
I’ll back Indiana to finish the season with another win and cover.
Best bet: Fever -3.5 (-115)
Score prediction: Fever 94, Lynx 85
