Raiders vs. Chargers Point Spread: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction
The Los Angeles Chargers look to strengthen their grasp on a playoff spot with a third straight home victory when they host the free-falling Las Vegas Raiders ion Sunday afternoon in NFL Week 13 betting action at SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers return home well rested after enjoying a bye last week in the wake of a crushing 35-16 loss in Jacksonville in Week 11 that dropped their record to 7-4 and leaves them in a three-way tie with Buffalo and the Jaguars for the fifth seed in the AFC.
While the Chargers eye the postseason, the Raiders look to stop the bleeding after suffering a 24-10 defeat last week at the hands of the Cleveland Browns that extends their current losing streak to five games and to 1-9 in their past 10 overall.
The Chargers return to action perched as lofty 10-point favourites on the NFL Week 13 odds. The Raiders lag as +425 moneyline underdogs and the total is listed at 41 in this clash of AFC West rivals.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Chargers rolled to a decisive 20-9 victory when they visited Las Vegas back in Week 2, extending their head-to-head win streak versus the Raiders to three games. Each of LA’s recent wins over the Raiders have come by double-digit margins with Vegas scoring an average of just 13 points in those contests.
Overall, the Chargers have won seven of 10 meetings and gone 7-3 ATS over that stretch but have gone just 2-3 ATS in their past five dates at SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers have emerged as a betting disappointment this season, covering in just two of eight contests since opening the campaign on a 3-0 ATS run but have covered in each of their past two home dates while claiming victory by an average margin of 16 points.
Los Angeles is also undefeated in 11 straight as double-digit home chalk, but have covered just twice in their past eight.
The Raiders’ offensive woes continued in last week’s 24-10 loss to the Browns. Vegas has now scored 10 or fewer points three times during their 0-5 slide and have mustered just 13 total points over its past three road dates.
Las Vegas Raiders
With just three total TDs scored over the past three games, it is tough to find positives to talk about on the Raiders offence. Indeed, the lost season is taking its toll on quarterback Geno Smith, who was sacked 10 times while compiling 208 passing yards and one score in last week’s loss and was forced to publicly apologize to Raiders nation after flipping off booing home fans as he left the field.
While it is the right time for Smith to be getting out of town, his favourite target Tre Tucker may not be at 100 per cent after being limited at practice wit a knee injury.
With the Chargers pass defence standing tall while allowing just 137.3 yards per game and three total TDs while racking up 12 sacks and four interceptions, the best bet is fading the 35-year-old pivot, taking him as a -115 bet on the NFL player props to compile UNDER 205.5 passing yards and a -185 wager to throw at least one INT.
Los Angeles Chargers
Bye week came just in time for Justin Herbert, who struggled badly in the team’s lopsided loss to the Jags, tossing for just 81 yards, no scores, and picks while attempting just 18 passes. Now forced to play behind an offensive line and with a backfield ravaged by injuries, snapping out of that funk will be easier said than done.
With Herbert likely facing pressure all day, the Chargers passer is a solid -118 bet to compile OVER 15.5 rushing yards for the 10th time this season However, LA covering as 10-point chalk may be an uphill battle, even against the Raiders feeble attack.
