Patriots vs. Bills Week 4 Betting Odds, Prediction and Picks: Buffalo Opens as 6.5-Point Favourite
The first of two Games of the Year in the AFC East is Sunday afternoon when the defending division champion but struggling New England Patriots visit unbeaten Buffalo. The Bills are -6.5 on the odds with a total of 48.5 on the Week 4 NFL odds.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends
Are you aware that either New England or Buffalo has won the AFC East every season since 2008? Not a big shock as the Patriots had Tom Brady under centre and the Bills currently have Josh Allen there – a pair of former MVPs and future Hall of Famers. When you have the best quarterback in the division by a mile, you should dominate it for years.
Miami and the New York Jets are in the midst of deep rebuilds with major quarterback questions so one of these two is going to win the East again. And probably again in 2027. And ’28.
These clubs played two entertaining close games last season with each winning away. The Bills took the last one, 35-31, in Foxborough in December, rallying from down 21-0 in the second quarter. Allen threw three touchdown passes, and James Cook ran for two TDs and caught another. Pats QB Drake Maye rushed for two scores but didn’t have a good passing night at 14-for-23 for 155 yards and a pick. This will be the rivalry’s first game at the Bills’ new Highmark Stadium.
NFL Player Odds and Props
I recommended Buffalo’s Josh Allen to have yet another rushing touchdown in Week 3, and he did. Might the quarterback lead the NFL in rushing TDs this season? Very unlikely, but his six rushing TDs are tied for the NFL lead with Ravens tailback Derrick Henry. For New England, take QB Drake Maye for an INT as he has not looked good at all yet.
New England Patriots
Drake Maye and the Patriots were one of the stories of last season as Maye finished second in the NFL MVP voting and the Pats skyrocketed to 14 regular-season wins and reached the Super Bowl. This team doesn’t resemble that one much yet, and Maye looks nothing like that guy. His struggles actually started in last season’s playoffs and they sure continued Sunday in a 35-6 loss in Jacksonville as he was 14-for-25 for 199 yards with no TDs and two picks with two fumbles (one lost). Maye leads the league with six INTs (seven total turnovers). He badly misses top WR AJ Brown as the offseason trade acquisition hasn’t played since Week 1 due to injury and won’t back yet. The New England offence scored 29 points on 30 drives this season, and the Pats have scored just 36 total points so far. Those are the fewest in the first three games after a Super Bowl trip since the 2007 Bears. Guard Greg Van Roten and excellent defensive lineman Christian Barrimore both were injured on Sunday.
Buffalo Bills
I predicted the Bills to beat the visiting Los Angeles Chargers, 27-20, in Week 3 and wasn’t far off as Buffalo stayed unbeaten and shockingly kept the Bolts winless with a 24-16 victory, rallying from an early 10-point deficit. The Chargers had a nice TD drive on their first possession and then held to three field goals. Josh Allen rushed for two touchdowns and became the first QB in league history with at least two in three straight games. He’s only the fourth player ever with at least two in the first three games of a season. The others of course are running backs. The Bills had a whopping five turnovers on Sunday compared to just one for the Chargers. It was Buffalo’s first win with a minus-four turnover margin of worse since 1997. Those five giveaways tied the most in an Allen start. The Bills are the third team this century to start 3-0 in three straight seasons. Starting cornerback Christian Benford left injured and not able to return.
