Seahawks vs. Packers Point Spread: NFL Pre-Season Week 3 Odds, Prediction

Seattle is 1-0-1 this preseason, with a 24-24 tie versus the Las Vegas Raiders and last week’s 33-16 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.Seattle went 10-7 under new coach Mike Macdonald and missed the playoffs for the third time in four years.
Green Bay went 11-6 and reached the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons under coach Matt LaFleur before falling at Philadelphia to the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles in a Wild Card game, 22-10. The Packers have lost four of their last five postseason games.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Macdonald is now 3-1-1 straight up and 3-2 against the spread in his two preseasons as Seahawks coach. Seattle easily covered the 2.5-point spread as favourites against the Chiefs.
LaFleur is 9-11 against the spread in his seven preseasons leading the Packers. That includes 0-2 ATS this year. His team was a 6.5-point underdog at Indianapolis and covered.
Seattle Seahawks
Macdonald took over from long-time coach Pete Carroll and led the Seahawks to double-digit victories for the first time in four seasons, but the franchise, which went to back-to-back Super Bowls a decade ago, failed to reach the playoffs.
Seattle refused to stand pat, jettisoning three-year starting quarterback Geno Smith (70.4%, 4,320 yards and 21 TDs) in favour of 2024 NFL Most Improved Player Sam Darnold (66.2%, 4,319 yards and 35 TDs), formerly of the Minnesota Vikings. The team also traded wide receiver DK Metcalf and acquired long-time Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp to join emerging star Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
However, Macdonald is espousing a return to the ground-and-pound game Seattle employed so successfully when Marshawn Lynch loomed in the backfield. The team rushed for 268 yards against the Chiefs, with five different backs tallying 30 or more yards.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers were the youngest team to win a playoff game since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger two seasons ago, and they were still the youngest team in the league last season. LaFleur has compiled a stellar 70-38 record in six years at the helm, and his first two teams reached the NFC Championship Game, but the Packers are just 1-3 in the postseason over the past four years.
Jordan Love had a breakout season at quarterback in 2023, but regressed a bit last year. Green Bay gave him some much-needed help at the wideout position with 2025 first-round pick Matthew Golden out of Texas.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Seahawks vs. Packers?
The Packers close out the preseason at home, looking to wash out the nasty taste in their mouths from the 30-10 defeat to the New York Jets in their first preseason game. Expectations are at their annual high in Green Bay, and the team has a huge NFC North contest at home against the Detroit Lions to open the season.
LaFleur sat 29 starters against the Colts, and he probably won’t play too many of them this week either, but Macdonald won’t go heavy on the starters on his side either. Look for an explosive game from backups and outliers scrambling to get film in their final preseason game. The Packers should take this one at home, 28-21, and cover as 1.5-point favourites.
