Oregon (11) vs. Creighton (3) Bracket Prediction: March Madness Odds

The Ducks outclassed South Carolina in an 87-73 win in Thursday’s First Round action, extending their current overall win streak to five games. The Bluejays punched their ticket to the Second Round for a fourth straight year with a 77-60 rout of the Akron Zips in Thursday’s action to improve to 8-2 SU and ATS in their past 10 overall.

The third-seeded Bluejays are pegged as a strengthening 5.5-point favourites on the Second Round odds, and the total is listed at 145.5.

Oregon vs. Creighton NCAA Tournament Point Spread and Betting

Saturday night’s matchup marks the first meeting between these teams since facing off in a three-game series to determine the CBI championship in 2011. The Bluejays overcame a Game 1 loss with back-to-back victories to win that series, which also represents the only time these schools have ever met.

More recently, the Bluejays have powered their current 8-2 run with impressive offence, averaging 79.5 points per game and scoring fewer than 70 points just twice in their past 15 outings. However, with six of their past eight wins coming by double-digit margins, the Bluejays have produced uneven results in totals betting, with the OVER going 5-5 in their past 10. Conversely, the Ducks have gotten things done with small ball, scoring more than 67 points just twice during their 5-0 run.

Oregon Ducks

Jermaine Couisnard looked like he had a score to settle with his former South Carolina teammates on Thursday night, scoring 40 points to lead the Ducks with a dominating performance in an 87-73 win over the Gamecocks. The senior’s outburst comes less than three weeks after dropping 39 points in a 103-83 loss to Arizona. The challenge now facing Couisnard is to maintain that tendency after averaging just 14.8 points in the games following each of the six contests in which he has scored at least 20 points this season.

Creighton Bluejays

The Bluejays received solid contributions from their starters in Thursday’s victory over the Zips. All five starters tallied double-digit point totals led by Ryan Kalkbrenner, who scored a team-high 23 points to go along with eight rebounds and has now averaged 19.6 points over his past five games and 10 boards per game over his past two outings. The team leader and points and rebounds per game this season, senior big man Baylor Scheierman contributed 15 points and 13 boards and has now recorded double-doubles in four of five outings.
