2026 NFL scouting combine

The combine will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis has hosted the combine since 1987 and it will remain there until at least 2028.

Players started arriving for the combine on Sunday, but the official schedule didn’t begin until Monday, Feb. 23 and it will run through March 2. Here’s the schedule for on-field workouts:

Thursday, Feb. 26: Defensive linemen and linebackers

Friday, Feb. 27: Defensive backs and tight ends

Saturday, Feb. 28: Quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs

Sunday, March 1: Offensive linemen

2026 NFL draft

The combine is the last chance for players to showcase their abilities ahead of the draft. This year’s draft is scheduled for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh. Here’s how the first 10 picks currently stand:

  1. Las Vegas Raiders (3-14)
  2. New York Jets (3-14)
  3. Arizona Cardinals (3-14)
  4. Tennessee Titans (3-14)
  5. New York Giants (4-13)
  6. Cleveland Browns (5-12)
  7. Washington Commanders (5-12)
  8. New Orleans Saints (6-11)
  9. Kansas City Chiefs (6-11)
  10. Cincinnati Bengals (6-11)

First overall pick

Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza is widely expected to be drafted first overall to the Las Vegas Raiders after winning the Heisman Trophy and leading the Hoosiers to their first-ever national championship.

This is a slam-dunk pick. The Raiders desperately need a quarterback and Mendoza is consensus top QB in the draft.

Second overall pick

The second overall pick is where things get interesting and right now it looks like a two-way race between Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese and Texas Tech linebacker/defensive end David Bailey. Unlike Mendoza, Reese and Bailey are both expected to participate in drills at the combine.

Reese played 14 games for the Buckeyes in 2025, registering 6.5 sacks, two passes defended and 69 total tackles, including 10 for a loss. He’s viewed as a game-breaker and potentially the best overall player in the draft.

In 14 games for the Red Raiders, Bailey led the nation with 14.5 sacks while contributing three passes defended with 52 total tackles, including 19.5 tackles for a loss. Bailey’s explosiveness and versatility have him projected to be picked early in a relatively weak draft class.
