2026 MLB Betting Odds: Is the Toronto Blue Jays’ season officially dead?
The Toronto Blue Jays are playing with fire as oddsmakers have priced them at +425 to make the playoffs.
If Toronto misses the postseason, they can likely look at one game or even one inning as the official death blow. That would be Thursday’s 13-2 beatdown at the hands of the Kansas City Royals, which was blown open by a six-run explosion from KC in sixth inning.
So, with the Blue Jays sitting 3.5-games back of the final American League wild-card spot, is their season dead in the water?

Toronto Blue Jays
It’s starting to get ugly in Toronto. The boos from a crowd of over 40,000 rained down heavy on Thursday as the Jays trailed 10-0 by the sixth inning.
The boo-birds stayed out in the bottom half of the sixth with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. grounding out to second. The struggling slugger is having one of the most baffling season in MLB history without a single home run at Rogers Centre in 2026.
“When you’re getting your ass kicked pretty good, they’re allowed to have their opinion,” manager John Schneider said of the boos. “But we love their support every night.”
Whether fans are booing or not, the Blue Jays have no time to regroup and virtually no room for error. Toronto is about to begin back-to-back series’ against Seattle and Cleveland, two teams also in the running for the third AL wild-card spot.
The Blue Jays absolutely need to win these next two series’ and likely need to get at least one sweep. If not, it’s time for the players to pack up the U-Hauls and start planning those off-season vacations.
