Lions vs. RedBlacks Prediction: CFL Week 13 Point Spread, Odds
A clash of teams headed in opposite directions closes out the CFL Week 13 betting schedule, as the bottom-feeding Ottawa RedBlacks play hot to the surging BC Lions on Sunday night at TD Place Stadium.
The Lions enter CFL Week 13 deadlocked with Winnipeg for third place in the CFL standings, two points back of second-place Saskatchewan after extending their current win streak to four games with last week’s 30-16 home victory over the Roughriders.
Conversely, the RedBlacks are looking to snap out of free-fall in the wake of last week’s humiliating 46-16 loss in Montreal that leaves them winless through their first 10 games of the campaign.
The Lions arrive in the nation’s capital perched as lofty 7.5-point road favourites on the CFL Week 13 odds. The RedBlacks sport distant +280 odds on the CFL moneyline and the total is listed at 61.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
These teams split a pair of regular season meetings in 2025, with the home team claiming victory in each including a narrow 34-33 RedBlacks win last September, and have taken two straight from the Lions on home turf.
However, BC has held the overall edge with wins in five of their past seven matchups with Ottawa, and has gone 2-1 against the spread when facing the RedBlacks while favoured by 7+ points.
High scoring has been commonplace when these teams meet, with the total topping 60 in five of seven clashes, fuelling a steady 6-1 run for the OVER in CFL totals betting.
The Lions have also produced steady offence during their current 4-0-0 SU run, averaging 31.5 points per game and covering the spread four times over that stretch.
Conversely, the RedBlacks have regularly come up short on the scoreboard and at the sportsbook, averaging a league-worst 22.3 points per game. Ottawa has also failed to cover in four straight while scoring just 17.5 points per game and have been pegged as underdogs by 7.5+ points in each of its past three outings.
BC Lions
The Lions have won four consecutive games, averaging 30.5 points per game while allowing only 21.3 during the streak. Quarterback Nathan Rourke has been the driving force behind the Lions’ resurgence. The Victoria, BC native has flashed familiar form in three outings since returning from injury, racking up 1026 total passing yards to go along with six total scoring tosses, capped by a 355-yard, two-TD effort in last weekend’s victory over the Riders.
The Lions are also benefiting from improved health after being beset by injuries early in the campaign, and could be poised to run up the score against a beleaguered RedBlacks squad that has surrendered 36.8 points per game during a 0-10-0 start, and 40.3 points per game in three straight brutal defeats.
In addition to Rourke’s successful return, the Lions have been getting plenty of production from their backfield, which is anchored by Zander Horvath, who has marched for six touchdowns and made one total scoring catch over the past four games, a stretch that has featured two 100+ rushing-yard efforts and two 30+ receiving yard performances.
Ottawa RedBlacks
With the RedBlacks already off the Grey Cup odds board in the wake of a dismal 0-10-0 start, the organization made a big change, parting ways with vice president of football operations Shawn Burke, and hiring veteran CFL executive Jim Popp as an advisor on the club’s future football structure and assist Ryan Dinwiddie and the current staff with roster evaluation and the 2027 player pipeline.
While Popp’s arrival strengthens the front office, it is unlikely to produce any short-term improvements to a team that ranks near the bottom of most CFL stats.
Indeed, the RedBlacks have nowhere to go but up after last week’s embarrassing loss to the Alouettes in which quarterbacks Jake Meier and McLeod Bethel-Thompson combined to toss for just 181 yards, no TDs, and three picks.
Passer Bryson Barnes remained effective as a ball carrier from in close, running for his fifth and sixth TDs of the season while second-year Canadian receiver Kellan White turned in a second straight 70+ receiving yard performance.
