Calgary Flames vs. Winnipeg Jets Prediction, NHL Odds

This is the second of three matchups this season, as the Flames already seek for payback after a 2-1 defeat on home ice on October 20th.

These teams are headed in opposite directions, but if their game four days ago is any indication, we should still be in for a hard-fought battle. Here is our NHL odds analysis on the Flames vs. Jets.

Flames vs. Jets NHL Betting Odds

These teams faced off just four days ago, with the Jets (5-2-0) owning the 1-0-0 record against the Flames (1-6-1) this season. In the past two seasons, these teams have an even 3-3-0 record.

On the puckline, Calgary is 3-5 this season, while Winnipeg is 4-3. In game totals for the Flames, the over has hit in four contests, and under in three with one push along the way. The Jets have seen three Overs and four Unders thus far.

Calgary Flames

The Flames have not rebuilt their franchise in quite some time, but the time has come. Calgary has only qualified for the playoffs once in the past five seasons, and with a 1-6-1 record, they are at the bottom of league standings and look poised to do it again.

This cabinet is not completely bare, as the Flames have a strong core of young players that represent the future of the team (Dustin Wolf, Zayne Parekh, Samuel Honzek, etc.), as well as key veterans that could fetch a strong trade return (Nazem Kadri, Rasmus Andersson, etc.).

With its poor record, the team is likely extremely hungry for a win. This is a tough task, but I expect them to go out there and fight.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets have started this season with an exceptional 5-2-0 record. This is a team hat has major expectations outside and inside the organization, especially since it has made the playoffs in four of the past five seasons.

Winnipeg is often looked at as a Stanley Cup contender with the likes of arguably the NHL’s best goaltender in Connor Hellebuyck, along with a deep roster up front and on the back end. Furthermore, the Jets are well-coached with Scott Arniel, who was a runner-up for the Jack Adams Trophy last season.

However, most know that Winnipeg’s strength has not matched the results. This team is in a show-up-or-shut-up position, and every win counts.

NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Flames vs. Jets?

With one matchup already in the books between the two, I expect this game to be a good battle. However, the strength in Winnipeg far outmatches Calgary, so I expect the Jets to win in a far more demanding way as opposed to their last matchup (2-1 final).

Even with a few injuries at forward (Adam Lowry and Cole Perfetti), they have excellent depth and are established throughout the lineup. I expect them to win 4-1 on home ice.
