Saints vs. Bears Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction
Chicago has won three straight, albeit the last two victories have come by identical 25-24 scores. The Bears defeated the Las Vegas Raiders thanks to a blocked field goal at the end of the game. They followed that up by knocking off Washington with a game-winning 38-yard field goal by new kicker Jake Moody as time expired.
The Saints struggled in the red zone yet again, settling for four field goals in a 25-19 loss at home to the New England Patriots. Two key drops by Chris Olave and a costly fourth-quarter fumble by Juwan Johnson helped seal the team’s fate.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Saints have won eight straight games against the Bears, with Chicago’s last win in this series coming in November 2008.
New Orleans is 1-1 against the spread on the road, where it has lost two straight to open the season and eight of nine dating back to last year.
The Bears are 1-1 against the spread at home, where they have played to the Over once. The Saints have played to the Over in both of their road contests on the NFL odds.
New Orleans Saints
New Orleans could not hold momentum following their win over the New York Giants a week before. Blake Grupe’s four field goals were the Saints’ most notable offensive stat in the loss to the Patriots.
Spencer Rattler’s numbers aren’t sexy, but he’s completing 68.5% of his passes and has only thrown one interception. Rookie left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. was hurt in the second quarter against New England, but returned after leaving in the second quarter.
The team needs to find a way to unleash Alvin Kamara more. The dynamic running back had just 76 yards from scrimmage last week, and he’s only averaging 3.8 yards per carry.
Chicago Bears
Are the Bears turning the corner with first-year coach Ben Johnson? The team has won three straight, but still sits at -15 in point differential thanks to the 52-21 blowout loss in Week 2 to the Detroit Lions. And that’s the thing. Chicago is 0-2 in the NFC North, where their 3-2 record actually has them tied for last.
The defence is getting the job done. They are tied for the league lead with a +8 turnover differential, and the secondary has recorded eight interceptions despite losing Jaylon Johnson for the year.
Getting D’Andre Swift going is a huge boost offensively. He rushed for 108 yards on 7.7 yards per carry and had an electric 55-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. That’s what the Bears need from him each week.
D.J. Moore is questionable with a groin injury. His absence would require Luther Burden III to step up again behind Rome Odunze, who is clearly Caleb Williams’ favourite receiver right now.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Saints vs. Bears?
Just when New Orleans appears to have turned the corner, the team gets stuck back in the mud offensively. Meanwhile, the Bears may have just earned the win to spark them for the rest of the season. That magic should stretch at least to this weekend, as the Bears take a 24-16 win at home over New Orleans.
