Argonauts vs. Blue Bombers Prediction: CFL Week 9 Point Spread, Odds
In a rematch of last year’s Grey Cup game, Winnipeg once again fell flat in a 31-17 loss against Toronto in Week 8. Can the Blue Bombers finally solve the Argonauts in Week 9, or will Toronto continue their dominance in head-to-head action?
Winnipeg is a 3-point favourite to win on the CFL odds, with the total pegged at 50.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
Last week’s win extended the Argos’ win streak in head-to-head action to four games. Of course, that includes a 41-24 upset victory for Toronto as 8-point underdogs in last year’s Grey Cup.
In fact, the Argonauts have won the last three games in this series as underdogs of four or more points.
That success has also translated to bettors as Toronto is 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games against Winnipeg.
These teams generally combine for higher scoring games, with the Over hitting in 12 of the last 17 matchups. Friday night could be a similar result as the Bombers have hit the Over in five straight home dates.

Toronto Argonauts
Quarterback Nick Arbuckle showed the brilliance that saw him win Grey Cup MVP in 2024 in last week’s victory over the Bombers. Arbuckle threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions as Toronto picked up their first home win of the season.
The 31-year-old journeyman will remain the starter going forward as Chad Kelly was placed on the six-game injured list and looks far from ready to return from a broken leg suffered in last year’s East Division final.
Damonte Coxie had his most productive game of the season last week, finishing with 145 receiving yards and a touchdown. Coxie ranks third in the CFL in total receiving yards (587) and tied for fifth in receiving TDs (four).
Toronto won the turnover battle 7-1 in Week 8, which clearly made a major difference.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
It was more of the same from quarterback Zach Collaros last week. After throwing four interceptions and no TDs against Toronto in last year’s Grey Cup, Collaros threw two interceptions and no TDs last week before leaving with a neck injury.
Collaros has been ruled out of Week 9, so backup Chris Streveler will get the start. Playing the second half last week, Streveler was solid, completing 11 of 18 pass attempts for 148 yards and a touchdown.
With Collaros on the shelf, you should expect to see running back Brady Oliveira get a big assignment in Week 9. Oliveira, who put up 82 rushing yards last week, has been limited to four games this season due to injury, but he’s increased his stats output every game.
One positive to take away from last week’s loss is Winnipeg’s pass rush, which recorded five sacks.
