Detroit Pistons vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Game 6 Prediction, NBA Playoff Odds

The Eastern Conference semifinals have reached a fever pitch as the Cleveland Cavaliers look to close out the Detroit Pistons at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Friday. After four games defined by home-court dominance, Cleveland flipped the script on Wednesday with a thrilling 117-113 overtime victory in Detroit.

The Pistons are currently reeling after blowing a nine-point lead with three minutes remaining in Game 5, a collapse punctuated by a controversial non-call on Jarrett Allen. Now facing elimination, Detroit must summon the same resilience that saw them overcome a 3-1 first-round deficit against Orlando to force a deciding Game 7 at home.

Pistons vs. Cavaliers NBA Betting Odds

Cleveland enters as four-point favourites on the NBA odds, backed by a six-game home winning streak during this playoff run. However, Detroit has been a nightmare for oddsmakers when wearing the underdog hat this season, boasting a 12-5 SU and 13-4 ATS record in that role.

While the under typically reigns in high-stakes elimination games, the over has hit in six of Cleveland’s last eight contests against top-10 scoring defences. Bettors should also monitor the line moves if Detroit’s Duncan Robinson is cleared to play, as his perimeter gravity significantly alters the Pistons’ offensive ceiling.

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons’ survival hinges on the health of Robinson. After missing Game 5 with a sore back, Robinson is a game-time decision; his absence was felt deeply on Wednesday when Detroit shot a mediocre 33 per cent from beyond the arc.

Cade Cunningham has been heroic, coming off a 39-point masterpiece, but he needs more from Jalen Duren – who was largely a non-factor in the overtime loss. Detroit has proven they can win on the road in must-win scenarios, having taken Game 6 in Orlando last round. Expect a tightened defence and a heavy dose of Cunningham early.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland is in the driver’s seat, but the pressure to avoid a Game 7 is immense. Donovan Mitchell (27.9 PPG) and James Harden (23.6 PPG) have been exceptional, yet both stars carry historical baggage in closeout games.

Harden’s teams are a dismal 1-4 SU in his last five Game 6 appearances, where his scoring average dips significantly. To counter Detroit’s desperation, the Cavs will lean on Jarrett Allen, who has exceeded 9.5 points in 13 of his last 17 outings. If Evan Mobley and Allen can control the glass as they did in the final minutes of Game 5, Cleveland’s home crowd should have plenty to favour.

NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Pistons vs. Cavaliers Game 6?

While Cleveland has the momentum, the Pistons have spent the entire 2025-26 campaign thriving with their backs against the wall. The controversy of Game 5 should serve as fuel for a Detroit squad that felt robbed on their home floor.

If Robinson returns to provide necessary spacing for Cunningham, the Pistons have the tactical advantage to flip the script. History suggests Mitchell and Harden may struggle to find their rhythm under the suffocating pressure of a closeout game, so I’m backing Detroit to find their honour on the road and force a Game 7.
