Rams vs. Cardinals Point Spread: NFL Week 12 Odds, Prediction
The Rams ended a three-game slide by marching to a 17-16 comeback victory over Seattle last weekend, but have failed to cover the spread in each of their past four games. The Cardinals squandered an early 10-7 lead on their way to a narrow 21-16 loss to Houston last week that marked their seventh defeat in eight games, but have covered in three of their past four contests, and four of five home dates this season.
The Cardinals’ success at home has not given them a lift on the NFL Week 12 odds, where they trail as 1.5-point home underdogs. The Rams lead the way as -120 favourites on the NFL moneyline, and the total is listed at 44.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Hobbled by a recent rash of injuries, points have come at a premium for the Rams, who have averaged just 18.3 points per game during their current 0-4 ATS slide. The road has been particularly unkind to the Rams, who have scored just 23 total points during a 0-2 SU run, with just six of those points coming outside garbage time. However, LA has enjoyed consistent success against Arizona, winning 12 of their past 14 meetings while going 11-2-1 ATS. The Rams have also won and covered in eight straight visits to the desert, with those victories coming by an average margin of 12 points. While the Cards have covered in three of four, they have posted just one outright win in their past eight games. The cardinals have also dropped 11 of 12 when facing divisional rivals, with the lone exception over that stretch being last season’s 22-17 win in LA.
Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford may be back under center, but he could be faced with limited downfield options on Sunday due to injury. Among the players absent from practice this week is receiver Cooper Kupp, who remains hobbled by an ankle injury. Wideouts Puka Nacua and Ben Skowronek, both of whom were limited due to injury. The good news is the return of rusher Kyren Williams from the injured reserve. Williams has been on the shelf with an ankle injury since rushing for 158 yards and one score in the Rams’ 26-9 home victory over Arizona back in Week 6.
Arizona Cardinals
The bump produced by Kyler Murray’s return to action has quickly faded. Murray guided the Cardinals to a narrow 25-23 win over Atlanta in his season debut two weeks ago, but failed to get the offence going in last week’s loss. Murray tossed for his first score of the season and ran for his second touchdown in last week’s loss, but struggled after recess last week, as Arizona’s final three drives of the game ended with turnovers on downs. Injuries to top receivers Marquise Brown and Michael Wilson have not helped matters, and will add to the pressure on rusher James Conner to produce after averaging just 58.3 rushing yards and no TDs over his past four appearances.
