The BC Lions look to continue their climb up the CFL West standings with a fourth straight win when they host the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday night in CFL Week 12 betting action at BC Place.

The Lions escaped Calgary with a 30-26 victory last weekend, and enter the weekend just two points back of Winnipeg in the race for third place in the West.

The Riders head to the coast on the rebound after suffering a 26-19 loss in Hamilton last week, snapping a two-game surge and dumping them into second place in the CFL West standings, two points back of Edmonton.

The Lions lead the way as 2.5-point home favourites on the CFL Week 12 odds. The Roughriders trail as +120 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is listed at 62.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

Sunday night’s matchup marks the second of three scheduled meetings between these CFL West opponents this season. The Riders opened the campaign with a 31-27 home victory over the Lions to improve to 6-1-0 in their past seven head-to-head dates, but have claimed victory in just one of their past three visits to BC.

The Roughriders have also been sportsbook darlings in recent clashes with the Lions, covering in seven straight and nine of their past 10 matchups including a pair of outright wins as betting underdogs.

However, the reigning Grey Cup champions have largely been a betting disappointment this season, going just 2-5 ATS in their past seven overall contests and arrive in BC pegged as betting dogs for the first time this season.

The Lions have resuscitated their season with three straight victories and have gone 4-2-0 since opening on a 0-3-0 run. BC has also covered twice during their three-game surge, and have seen the UNDER pay out in five straight while surrendering just 22.8 points per game.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

Hobbled by injuries, the Roughriders were forced to overcome an early lead before fading after the break in last weekend’s loss to Hamilton. The team has now scored an average of just 19.5 points per game over the past two weeks, as quarterback Trevor Harris has struggled.

Harris completed just 23 of 35 passes for just 207 yards and one score while tossing two interceptions. Overall, the 40-year-old pivot has topped 243 passing yards just twice in the past six games, and has been intercepted at least once in each of the past seven games, nine times in total while throwing for just 14 TDs over that stretch.

However, help could be on the way, with receiver Samuel Emilus returning to practice this week after missing the past three games with a foot injury. Emilus had emerged as a model of consistency prior to his injury, piling up 448 receiving yards in six outings, highlighted by a season-best 91-yard, three-TD performance versus BC back in June.

BC Lions

The Lions overcame a pair of first-half deficits with a steady performance after the break in last week’s date with Calgary, erasing the Stampeders’ 18-13 halftime lead on the strength of a TD pass and a scoring run by quarterback Nathan Rourke.

The Victoria, BC native has been sensational in two games since returning from injury, throwing for four TDs to go along with last week’s scoring run and has now topped 300 passing yards in five of his six outings to date.

Rourke’s performance has not been overlooked on the CFL futures board, where he now trails only Montreal’s Davis Alexander as a +1400 bet to claim Most Outstanding Player honours. The 28-year-old has also made full use of his receiving corps, with three receivers topping 80 yards last week, with Jermaine Jackson leading the way with 89 yards.

The Lions defence is also coming off a stout performance, limiting Stamps pivots to 206 total passing yards and one score, and fording Calgary to keep it close on the strength of four Jude Mcatamney field goals.
