Eagles vs. Colts Point Spread: NFL Week 11 Odds, Prediction
The Philadelphia Eagles entered Monday Night Football against the Washington Commanders sitting on a perfect 8-0 record. That undefeated streak was shattered as Washington beat them 32-21. Maybe it’s a wakeup call that they needed.
Next up, the Eagles are hoping to get back on track when they take on the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts were on a three-game losing streak before hiring former player Jeff Saturday to be their next head coach, a move that was widely criticized. However, they beat the Las Vegas Raiders behind a dominant run game in Saturday’s debut. Can Saturday keep the magic alive or will Philly get to 9-1?
Philadelphia is a 7-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, with a total of 44.0.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall but are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games played on the road against a team with a losing home record. The over has cashed in four straight for them and is 6-1 in their last seven against teams with a losing record.
If you’re looking for an odd stat, here’s one: Indianapolis has covered six straight Week 11 games. Maybe it’s their lucky number. However, they are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight up win. For the total, the under has hit in all five of their games against teams with a winning record on the season.
Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia didn’t necessarily play poorly in their loss to Washington, but they were just outworked most of the night. Jalen Hurts continued his MVP race with 175 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception on top of 28 rushing yards and an additional touchdown. They were just whooped when it came to time of possession – mostly because they couldn’t stop the run consistently enough. The question will be: have they learned from this? They’re going to be going up against another formidable running back in Jonathan Taylor this week and if they can’t stop him, they’ll be in a similar position.
The bottom line for the Eagles is that they should still be considered the best team in the league. They played a good game but were bound to have a bad outcome at some point. Hurts and this run game need to get a lead and force the Colts to move away from the run. If so, they’ll dictate the pace and be in much better shape.
Indianapolis Colts
The recipe for Saturday and the Colts seems incredibly simple: give Taylor the football. The team went back to Matt Ryan at quarterback last week and that created a bit of a threat to pass. Last week, Las Vegas couldn’t just stack the box and it paid dividends throughout the game. Ryan threw for 222 yards and a touchdown without an interception, something he was prone to doing earlier in the year.
On the ground, Taylor took 22 carries for 147 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown. He took a lot of pressure off of Ryan and their offence while keeping the defence rested off the field.
So far, Indianapolis has been bad when they forget about Taylor in the offence. If they can establish a run game like Washington did, then they could keep it closer than expected.
