Eagles vs. Dolphins Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 13 Odds

The Philadelphia Eagles come into their Week 13 matchup at 5-6 on the year and after a 17-9 loss to the Seahawks last week. The Dolphins remain one of the worst teams in the league with a 2-9 record and an ugly 41-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns fresh in their minds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

So far this season, Philadelphia is 4-7 against the spread. Miami is 5-6 against the spread. As of this writing the Eagles are 9-point favorites to win this Sunday matchup against the home team at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

There are certainly issues with the Philly offense, but the Eagles don’t have too many defensive problems, and have given up an average of just 15.3 points per game since Week 8. The Miami defense is terrible, so even the spotty work of Carson Wentz and his offense should be able to manage a win here.

Philadelphia Eagles

Last Sunday’s 17-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks was just further proof of this team’s offense problems, although it should be stated that some major injuries haven’t helped either. Last week, Philly was missing six starters from their offense, and the only reason that they have their heads slightly above water here is the defense.

In that loss last week, it was Zach Ertz who shone, with 12 receptions for 91 yards and a TD. Carson Wentz, on the other hand, did not have a good day. Wentz turned the ball over four times and completed 33 of 45 passes for 256 yards and just one touchdown pass.

Miami Dolphins

Out of Miami’s nine losses this season, eight have been by double digit scores. Last week was no exception, when the Cleveland Browns, who have been inconsistent at best, handed the Dolphins a 41-24 loss. There was a small window at the beginning of November when the beleaguered Miami team looked, well, not like themselves, and managed to win back to back games, thanks to Ryan Fitzpatrick. It was not to be a trend however, as they’ve lost their last two games by 34 points combined.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has started for the past six and has a 62 percent pass completion record in those games, with 10 touchdown passes and an equal number of interceptions thrown. Last week against the Browns, Fitzpatrick completed 21 of 39 throws with two touchdowns.
