Jets vs. Coyotes Prediction: NHL Betting Odds
If the Jets don’t win this game, there is a realistic chance they could slip to third place in the division. That shows you just how tight the Central is considering just a week ago they were in first place. For the Coyotes, the season is over as they fell just short in what will be deemed as a strong showing for the franchise.
Jets vs Coyotes Betting Analysis
Entering this game with the Coyotes, the Jets have won five of the last six, and seven of the last 10 games against Arizona. However, the Coyotes are 3-2 in the last five games at home against the Jets. When looking back at the last 17 games in Arizona between these two teams, that trend has continued with the home side going 12-4-1 over that time.
The Jets seem to have hit a wall as of late, going 1-6 in their last seven games overall. They are also 15-6-2 this season against the Pacific division, which is the most wins against the division by a team outside the division.
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets enter this game with the Coyotes coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Avalanche on Thursday night. With that loss, they are no longer in the driver’s seat for first place in the Central division, as they watched the Predators score two third period goals in their game to knock off the Canucks 3-2 on the same night.
The Jets now have 97 points, are one point back of the Predators and tied with the Blues, but hold the tiebreaker on them (if remained tied). They need a win to clinch home ice in the first round of the playoffs. Also, a win combined with a Nashville Predators loss in any fashion would give the Jets their first division title since relocation. Blake Wheeler leads the Jets in scoring on the road this season with 39 points in 40 games.
Arizona Coyotes
Despite a 4-1 win over the Golden Knights Thursday night the Coyotes received some bad news during the game as they were officially eliminated from the playoffs (because of the Avalanche recording a win).
It marks the seventh consecutive and 13th time in the last 16 seasons that the Coyotes have missed the post season.
The Coyotes have lost 377 total man games to injury this year but battled right to the end. Since January 6th they are 22-13-5, at that pace over the course of an entire season, it would make this team a 100+ point franchise.
Entering this game with the Jets, the Yotes are stumbling to the finish line with a 3-4-3 record in their last 10 games. With a win this team will hit the 40-win plateau, a feat this organization has accomplished just three times since moving to Arizona in 1996.
Although Head Coach Rick Tocchet hasn’t indicated any lineup changes, it is more likely the club doesn’t which it up too much for the final game of the season.
