Lions vs. Commanders Point Spread: NFL Week 10 Odds, Prediction
Quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered an elbow injury in the Commanders’ 38-14 loss to Seattle last week, and Washington has now now fallen to defeat by double-digit margins in each of its past three contests. The Lions travel to DC on the rebound after dropping a narrow 27-24 decision to the archrival Minnesota Vikings last weekend, and have struggled to generate offense while losing two of their past three games.
The Lions have emerged as 8-point road favourites on the NFL Week 10 odds. The Commanders trail as +340 underdogs on the NFL moneyline and the total is listed at 49.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Sunday’s matchup marks the first meeting between these NFC rivals since the Commanders rolled to a 45-31 win over the Lions in last season’s NFC Divisional playoff action. That marked just second head-to-head victory for the club in eight dates with the Lions since 2008. The Commanders have historically dominated Detroit on home turf, winning 14 of 15 meetings since 1980 and going 3-9 against the spread in their past 12 while limiting the Lions to 10 or fewer points on six occasions. However, that impressive track record may mean little to a Commanders squad that has gone winless ATS during a 0-4 run during which they have been outscored by a wide 135-67 combined margin.
Winners in four of their first five games including a 4-0 run during which they scored over 40 points per game, the Lions have taken a step back, losing two of three while tallying just 21.7 points per game. Undefeated on the road during the 2024 regular season, the Lions have gone just 2-2 away from Ford Field in 2025, but romped to big victories in their past two as double-digit road chalk.
Detroit Lions
While points have come at a premium during their current 1-2 swoon, Jared Goff has remained productive, throwing for five TDs over that stretch. However, the Lions passer has been sacked nine times over the past two games, and with the depth of his offensive line diminished by injuries. That could emerge as a concern against a Commanders pass defence that has enjoyed some success this season, racking up 12 sacks over the past five games. Of course, it is tough to overlook the value in the +160 odds on the NFL player props of Goff connecting for OVER 2.5 touchdown passes. But with the possibility of rain on Sunday afternoon, it could be a busy day for Jahmyr Gibbs, who will be looking to atone for last week’s meagre 25-yard performance and is a lucrative -110 bet to exploit Washington’s injury hobbled defence and rush for OVER 71.5 yards.
Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels did not participate in practice this week amid speculation that he will miss the remainder of the season with an elbow injury, opening the door for Marcus Mariota once again take the reins of the Commanders offence on Sunday afternoon. Mariota has been steady in relief this season, tossing for three touchdowns and running for a fourth in three starts. However, the 32-year-old has also thrown four INTs, making him a strong -130 bet to throw at least one pick on Sunday, and will have to make do without the services of receiver Terry McLaurin, who is nursing a quad injury. Indeed, the Commanders sport a lengthy injury report this week that includes the likes of rusher Jacory Croskey-Merritt, cornerback Trey Amos, and safety Tyler Owens, and have been particularly impacted on defence, which could see a lot of playing time on Sunday.
