Toronto Raptors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction, NBA Odds

Although the Raptors won in Cleveland a couple of weeks ago, the Cavaliers are now priced as 7.5-point favourites on the NBA odds with a total of 240.5.

Raptors vs. Cavaliers NBA Betting Odds

This marks the fourth game of a five-game trip for the Dinos, which ends Saturday at Indiana – a very winnable game considering how short-handed the Pacers are currently. So a victory here to get to 2-2 could mean a winning trip, and any winning trip is a major success in the NBA.

It also will be Toronto’s second and final trip to Cleveland this season barring a playoff matchup, which isn’t out of the realm of possibility. The Cavaliers will be a top-three seed in the Eastern Conference again and are +200 East favourites. Toronto is currently +110 to return to the post-season – I believe at least the Play-In Tournament will happen – and -130 to miss a fourth straight season on the NBA futures board.

On Halloween, the Raptors were 4.5-point underdogs at the Cavs in an NBA Cup game but won 112-101. That spread was fairly small as Cleveland was superstar guard Donovan Mitchell and excellent centre Jarrett Allen because of injuries. Evan Mobley scored 29 points to lead the Cavs. Jamison Battle was the unlikely hero for Toronto with 20 points, including a pair of 3-pointers that helped the Raptors pull away in the final two minutes.

Cleveland has still won seven of the past 10 overall in the series and is 5-4-1 ATS.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto is 2-1 on this current five-game trip following a 119-109 win Tuesday at Brooklyn, which is in utter tank mode and was without its best player in Cam Thomas. That’s a game the Raptors should have won easily, even on the road. They shot 49.5% (45 for 91) from the field and outrebounded the Nets, 50-36, in winning for the fifth time in six games. That’s not to say Toronto played well, shooting just 9-for-35 from and giving Brooklyn 32 free-throw attempts, of which it made 31. Brandon Ingram led with 25 points, while Immanuel Quickley had 24. The Dinos were without reserves in swingman Ochai Agbaji and forward Sandro Mamukelashvili due to injury. They are both questionable tonight as is rookie Collin Murray-Boyles due to illness. Over the past four games, Raptors reserves have scored at least 30 points three times. Toronto leads the NBA in fast-break points averaging 20.7 per game and has outscored the opposition by 86 points in that category. It also ranks third in assists at 29.7 and has recorded at least 25 in game 10 times, one of only four teams to say that. Toronto is 4-1 ATS in its past five against the East.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Second of a back-to-back for Cleveland as it rested its starting backcourt of All-Stars in Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell as well as All-Star big man Evan Mobley for Wednesday’s game in Miami – the Cavs should have lost easily but naturally prevailed, 130-116, to win for the fifth time in six games. I’d expect those three back tonight, but you might see another All-Star big, Jarrett Allen, get tonight off after dominating with 30 points and 10 rebounds on Tuesday. The Cavs drained another 14 3-pointers on Wednesday and largely live back there, leading the East in total made 3s. The team has scored at least 128 points in a franchise-record five straight games and the team total tonight is 123.5. Cleveland is 4-10 ATS in its past 14 games.
