Warriors vs. Rockets Odds, Prediction: Game 4 NBA Playoffs
The Houston Rockets look to even up their Western Conference semifinal series against the visiting Golden State Warriors on Monday night in Game 4.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Could be Houston’s last home game of the season on Monday should it lose Game 4 to the Warriors and fall down 3-1. This series is over if that happens, but, spoiler alert, we don’t think it will. In NBA playoff history, a team has won a best-of-7 series 20 times after trailing 2-0. The Rockets did it in both 1994 & ’95 vs. the Phoenix Suns on the way to championships in those seasons (when Michael Jordan was temporarily retired).
On the updated Sports Interaction series lines, Golden State remains a heavy -556 favourite with the Rockets at +325. The favoured exact result is Warriors in five at +225. The long shot is Rockets in six at +650. Houston has yet to lose a home game in these playoffs. Saturday’s loss was the Warriors’ first on the road this postseason.
All three games this series have been decided by six of fewer points. Houston has covered five of the past seven against Golden State overall.
Golden State Warriors
Should the Warriors be worried about All-Star Steph Curry? He dislocated the middle finger on his left (non-shooting) hand in Game 2 and claims it’s not bothering him. However, Curry played arguably his worst game of the season in the 126-121 overtime loss Saturday. He was just 7-for-23 shooting and 2-for-9 from deep. Curry also missed a wide-open dunk late that might have given the Warriors a chance to at least extend the game to a second OT. Truly one of the most shocking sights in recent NBA history. Even the mom of teammate Draymond Green shredded Curry afterward on Twitter. Kevin Durant, meanwhile, continues to dominate and had 46 points in Game 3. He’s averaging 35.6 points in these playoffs and shooting 51.5 per cent.
Houston Rockets
Playing in his own gym seemed to spark James Harden in Game 3 as he had 41 points, nine rebounds and six assists – although Houston was outscored by four points with him on the court. Eric Gordon added 30 points. Their 71 combined points were the fourth-most in franchise playoff history by a duo. Houston has won nine straight postseason games when scoring at least 120 points. Reserve guard Danuel House is questionable Monday after missing Game 3 with a toe injury. He’s averaging around 20 minutes in the playoffs. The Rockets are 8-1-1 ATS in their past 10 home games.
