Toronto Raptors vs. Miami Heat Prediction, NBA Odds

The Toronto Raptors will try to rebound from back-to-back weekend losses when they travel to South Florida to take on the Miami Heat on Tuesday night in NBA betting action at Kaseya Center.

The Raptors turned their lowest scoring performance of the season in Sunday’s 96-81 loss in Brooklyn after getting outclassed in a 112-96 defeat at the hands of the visiting Boston Celtics on Saturday night, and have now dropped eight of their past 11 contests and fallen to sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Heat have also lost two straight after wrapping up a three-game road trip with Sunday’s 132-125 loss in New York. Miami has now gone 1-7 in its past eight but remain just 1.5 games back of the Raptors in the East.

The Heat lead the way as 5.5-point favourites on Tuesday’s NBA odds. The Raptors lag +170 underdogs on the NBA moneyline and the total is pegged at 228.5.

Raptors vs. Heat NBA Betting Odds

The Raptors posted a 106-96 win when they visited the Heat eight days ago, ending a two-game head-to-head slide and snapping a four- slide in Miami. Overall, the Raptors haven just three of nine from the Heat, but have enjoyed moderate success at the sportsbook when facing Miami, covering the spread on five of nine meetings and going 11-5 ATS on their past 16 overall and 6-2 ATS in their past eight dates at Kaseya Center.

However, the Raptors have become a huge betting disappointment since seeing their fast start to the season end. The club has gone 4-12 ATS in their past 16, and averaged just 99.4 points per game during a 2-5 run that has featured four losses by double-digit margins. The Heat have not fared much better. While the club managed to cover as 7.5- point underdogs in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks, they have gone just 4-8 ATS in their past 12 overall and 1-5 ATS during a 3-3 SU run on home hardwood.

Toronto Raptors

Brandon Ingram led the Raptors with just 19 points in Sunday’s loss to the Nets, and was one of just two Toronto shooters to reach double digits in the contest, along with Immanuel Quickley, who tallied 17 points. That ended a stretch of five games in which Ingram scored at least 24 points while posting 30+ points on two occasions including a 28-point performance last week versus the Heat. Quickley added 10 assists on the evening for his this double-double of the campaign, and has picked up 10 helpers on two of the past three games.

Things didn’t go as well for Scottie Barnes, who mustered just six points on 3-for-10 shooting. Barnes has now topped 18 points just once in six outings but has recorded three double-doubles over that stretch and 12 total on the season. Complicating matters for the Raptors is the loss of big man Jacob Poeltl, who saw just seven minutes of action before leaving Sunday’s game due to a nagging back injury that will keep him out of of Tuesday’s contest.

Miami Heat

The Heat led by as many as nine points before fading in Sunday’s loss the Knicks, and have now seen their record dip to 15-14 during a brutal 1-7 swoon. But it was a big night for Kel’el Ware, who left the Heat with a season-high 28 points and added 19 rebounds to record a third straight double-double and 12th on the season.

However, Ware posted just 13 points and six boards in last week’s loss to the Raptors. The big man was one of three Heat shooters to top 20 points last time out, with Jaime Jaquez Jr. scoring 23 and former Raptor Norman Powell contributing 22. Powell has steadily produced this season despite dealing with injuries, racking up 24 points per game. Things have not gone so well for Tyler Herro, who has been limited by injury to just six games this season, and will be sidelined once again on Tuesday night.
