Euro 2016 Group C Betting Odds and Predictions

It’s been two decades since Germany won the Euro championship and this year they are a +350 favorite to win Group C. To get past this round, they will have to face Poland, Ukraine and Northern Ireland, who will all be battling it out for the runners up spot. Each team will play three group stage matches, one against each other team in their group. After three games, the top two teams in each group will advance, as well as the four best third-place teams across all groups.

This is a record 12th consecutive appearance at the Euro for Germany, and they’ve won it three times. Even though they are the -331 favorites to win this group, Germany was surprised in the qualifying, when they were beaten by Poland. The core players on Germany’s squad are also the players who won the World Cup in Brazil in 2014. Poland will likely pose the greatest challenge for the Germans in this round.

Player to Watch: Robert Lewandowski had 42 goals for Bayern Munich this season, and his team will look for him to be one of the best finishers in the tournament.

You cannot underestimate Poland in this tournament, as they led all teams during qualifying with 33 goals. Poland has only made three appearances in the Euro and they’ve never advanced past the group stage. With +441 odds, they have the second best odds in Group C and will likely take second place to advance this year. They’ll be hoping to ride the wave of confidence they got after beating favored Germany during the qualifying.

The Ukraine team are priced at +800 to win the group, putting them in the third position in Group C. Euro 2016 is the first Euro that they have officially qualified for, they played four years ago as co-hosts of the tournament, so they’ll be determined to show that they earned their spot. Many will be watching to see what they can do without Andriy Shevchenko.

Northern Ireland has They never qualified for a Euro before, and the last time they were in a major world tournament was in 1986 at the World Cup in Mexico. They are the odds underdog in Group C at +2400, but did well in their qualifying against Romania, Hungary and Greece where they finished first.
