Maple Leafs vs. Mammoth NHL Betting Odds
The Maple Leafs have slammed the door on opposing shooters during their recent resurgence, allowing just five total goals during their current 4-0-0 run and just 2.50 goals per game over their past 10 overall.
The club has also snapped a five-game losing streak on the road with wins in two straight away games and have seen five of their recent eight victories come while pegged as betting underdogs. However, the Leafs have struggled this when playing on back-to-back nights, losing four of five while surrendering 4+ goals on three occasions.
The Mammoth saw their longest win streak since October snapped in Sunday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets, which also leaves them just outside the playoff picture in the Western Conference, but have helped their own cause with stingy defence that has limited opponents to just eight total goals during their current 3-0-1 run, and to three or fewer goals in nine of their past 11.
However, they have been unable to slow down Toronto during a five-game head-to-head losing streak, allowing 4.40 goals per game while falling to defeat my multiple goals on three occasions.
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs have received a big lift from the return of William Nylander, who has picked up right where he left off after missing six games due to injury. Nylander followed up on a three-point performance in Saturday’s 5-0 rout of Vancouver with a goal and an assist in Colorado on Monday night, and has now tallied five goals and 10 points during a four-game streak. Monday’s performance also snapped Nylander’s five-game points drought on the road and adds to his value as a +215 bet on the anytime goalscorer odds.
Auston Matthews also continued to flash MVP form with a goal and an assist on Monday night, and has now piled up eight goals and 14 points in eight games since Christmas. Matthews has also picked up four goals and two helpers in four away appearances to end a three-game road drought and offers attractive value as a +800 wager to score 2+ goals for the third time since New Year’s Day.
Utah Mammoth
While the Mammoth have enjoyed recent success, it has come by the slimmest of margins while recording just three goals per game. However, Clayton Keller has continued to fulfill his playmaking duties while recording seven assists over the past three games including a pair of helpers in Sunday’s loss.
Nick Schmaltz has also provided a spark, getting in one four of the club’s six total goals over the past two games with two goals and two helpers, and has picked up nine points over his past six home appearances.
Things have not gone so well for Dylan Guenther. The 22-year-old winger was held off the scoresheet in a third straight game on Sunday and has recoded just one point in five outings.
