The story of the NFL’s Wild-Card Weekend was all four road underdogs covering the spread – two winning outright.

There’s one big difference in this weekend’s Divisional Round, however: All the home teams come off a bye week. Here’s a quick look at each matchup with Sports Interaction NFL odds.

The spread you see on this game between the NFC No. 6 Falcons and top-seeded Eagles is not a misprint. Atlanta is a road favourite, the first time in league history under the current format that a No. 6 has been favoured over a No. 1. Oddsmakers are down on Philadelphia because of some shaky performances down the stretch by backup Nick Foles following the season-ending Week 14 torn ACL suffered by superstar quarterback Carson Wentz. The Falcons, meanwhile, played arguably their best game of the season last Saturday in upsetting the NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams. Would you prefer to back 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan or Foles? This writer still thinks home-field advantage matters.

The AFC No. 6 Titans were 8.5-point dogs last Saturday at AFC West champion Kansas City. If there’s one team in the NFL not built to rally from a 21-3 third-quarter deficit, it’s Tennessee. This is a very conservative, ground-and-pound offence. Yet rally the Titans did, winning 22-21 thanks in part to quarterback Marcus Mariota actually throwing a touchdown pass to himself. It would probably take a few more miracle plays here to upset the Super Bowl favourites, who haven’t lost at home to the Titans since 1993. Tennessee can get a backdoor cover here late, though.

The Jaguars had just 75 net passing yards in last week’s brutally ugly 10-3 victory over the Buffalo Bills. That’s surely not going to cut it in Pittsburgh as Blake Bortles is going to have to do more with his arm. Jacksonville does have the NFL’s top-rated pass defence and No. 2 pass rush. In a stunning 30-9 win at the Steelers back in Week 5, the Jaguars intercepted Ben Roethlisberger five times, returning two for touchdowns, and had two sacks. Big Ben will welcome back the NFL’s best receiver, Antonio Brown. He hasn’t played since early in a Week 15 loss to the Patriots due to a partially torn calf muscle. That half-point on the spread could be crucial.

The Vikings will know by Saturday night whether or not they will ever have to leave their own U.S. Bank Stadium through the Super Bowl should they get that far. Minnesota would host the NFC title game should it win here and Atlanta do so in Philadelphia. No team has played a Super Bowl in its own stadium. The Saints rung up 410 yards on a very good Carolina defence last weekend in a 31-26 win, but Minnesota’s defence was the top overall unit in the NFL. The Vikings beat the visiting Saints in the first Monday night game of the 2017 season but both teams are vastly different now. Here’s another game where that “hook” has this writer leaning toward the underdog.

Pick ATS: New Orleans
