Vancouver Canucks vs. New York Islanders Prediction, NHL Odds

The Canucks and Islanders have been sources of buzz around the NHL in the past week. Vancouver traded their captain and best player, Quinn Hughes, and then went on to win their first two games after the trade. New York has been turning heads because they’re on fire and catapulted in the standings.

Canucks vs. Islanders NHL Betting Odds

The Canucks collected a much-needed two consecutive wins entering this one. Before that, Vancouver dropped 12 out of their last 15 games. Their chances at the postseason are still bleak, but the Canucks have a good feeling in their locker room and will try to ride the momentum.

It will be tough for Vancouver to collect a third straight win. The Islanders have won six out of their last eight games and have won five straight at home. The Under has been trending for both teams as well. Games totals have gone under in eight out of Vancouver’s last nine games, and in 13 out of New York’s previous 17 games.

Vancouver Canucks

It has been a very ugly couple of months for the Canucks as part of two disappointing seasons. This new-look Canucks team appears to have turned a new leaf, though. Evaluating this team now is much different than that of the last year and a half.

In their two wins since the Hughes trade, the Canucks have outscored the Devils and Rangers by a combined score of 5-1. Their new additions, Marco Rossi, Zeev Buium, and Liam Ohgren, have accounted for two goals and three points. Rossi is now the team’s top line center and is on the top power play with Buium as well. The new acquisitions will continue to bring energy to this one.

New York Islanders

The Islanders have solidified themselves as a true contender in the Eastern Conference. They are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games as part of a current 13-6-1 run. With that, the Islanders have jumped to a top-three spot in the Atlantic Division.

New York’s hot couple of weeks has not been a fluke. Their last six wins have come against the Lightning three times, the Avalanche, Golden Knights, and Ducks. Their loss on Tuesday was by a narrow score of 3-2 to a Red Wings team that is also on a roll. This is a good team that is playing well against strong opponents.

NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Canucks vs. Islanders?

It has been a whirlwind of a week for the Canucks with some emotional ups and downs. It may just catch up to them on Friday. With respect to the injured Devils and inconsistent Rangers, the Islanders will be the toughest opponent the Canucks will have faced since the trade.

The Islanders are a tough fade right now. The Lightning are an elite team, and the Islanders managed to beat them three times in 11 days. Beating the same good team twice in a row is tough enough, let alone three times. Wins over Colorado, Vegas, and Anaheim are validating as well. New York is buzzing right now, and until or unless they slow down, they’re a good play. They should stay hot with a 4-2 win in this one.
